Grinds more than a nagging wife
Review of Bodum 5670 by
loveable_rogue
Advantages: fast grinder, cheap and cheerful, easy to use
Disadvantages: difficult to clean
...end result of using the Bodum 5670 is a cup of coffee that little bit richer and fuller in flavour than any alternatives. It is like drinking Expresso from Starbucks or Café Nero without the huge expense regular visits incur.
Prior to using the Bodum grinder I had a Gaggia grinder that tunred out to be the biggest waste of cash ever. That model cost £70 so when it struggled to grind even the smallest amount of beans in less than 10 minutes I wasn’t ... ...the Bodum because it was £20 and I had seen a few good reviews of its performance.
A little bigger than my Gaggia grinder at 28 x 23 x 20cm it isn’t huge and is about the same size as regular filter coffee makers. Loading and using the Bodum is easy. The beans are placed in the top section, one of 3 grinding speeds is selected and away you go with the ground coffee collected in a separate bin. As far as its sole purpose in life goes the Bodum is ...

So much easier and cleaner than I expected
Review of Bodum 5678 by
WorldGirl
Advantages: Neat, easy to use, no mess
Disadvantages: Short power lead
I accidentally bought some unground coffee beans and borrowed this coffee grinder from a friend so that they weren't wasted. I had always thought that having a coffee grinder would be a real fuss and a pain to clean, but I have been really pleasantly surprised! There's nothing to it really - throw a few beans in the top, press a button, and hey presto. And you can just sort of pour the ground coffee out (though the power lead is a bit short for doing ... ...as well, and would grace any kitchen counter. I'm just about to ask my mum to buy me one of these for my birthday! So the price I've put here is just what I've seen them for on the web - I haven't actually paid anything yet. ...

A cheap way to grind beans
Review of Bosch Siemens MKM6003 by
ratpup
Advantages: Stylish, easy to use, relatively inexpensive, good brand name
Disadvantages: Limited capacity for beans
The Bosch bean grinder is a stylish yet relatively inexpensive way of getting the most out of your coffee habit. Although using packaged pre-ground coffee for cafetieres or espresso machines is alright, I find it tastes much better when you've ground your own beans to exactly the size you like. The coffee is fresher this way and, if you are a 'heavy drinker' you do notice the difference through buying coffee beans instead of pre-ground. Let's not ... ...day, there's not much in the different models available. Most perform their task adequately but the Bosch does so quicker than most. Whether making coffee is an art or a science, this grinder will serve you well. It does what it's supposed to do and does it well. Highly recommended. ...

professional burr mill at home
Review of Cuisinart DBM8U BURR MILL (18 Position Grind) by
mjc121
Advantages: top quality, 5 year guarantee, 18 grind settings
Disadvantages: loud
I bought this coffee grinder after my cheap blade mill finally gave up. It was expensive (£56) but I had £30 worth of tokens for a well known department store so bought it as I know the name is a good one.
The major advantage is that it is a burr mill. This is where the coffee is not in constant contact with blades so the grind is more even so no more of the mix of dust and bigger lumps. The grind is done by grinding 'plates' and after it is ground ... ...this prevent over grinding but the coffee won't get as hot as it can in a blade mill. This gives a fuller taste from the coffee as less of the oils are destroyed.
The burr grinder has 18 grind settings which can be changed by adjusted by turning the bean hopper base. I keep mine two to the left of medium. There is also a 'cup selector' this will change the amount of coffee the machine will grind. This removes the guess work of how much to put into ...

TO GRIND OR NOT TO GRIND -AS THE CASE MAYBE
Review of Delonghi DCG39 by
dancediva123
Advantages: it grinds!
Disadvantages: far to many to mention
Review:* I bought this as it is nice to have freshly ground coffee first thing in the mornings or so I thought.
It seems I was mistaken I read the instructions as it said and emptied my coffee beans that where really nice coffee beans from my local coffee shop in to the grinder taking into account of the amount for 2 cups of freshly ground coffee. Switched it on then pressed the smaller of the 2 buttons. when the lights appeared on the front I released ... ...have freshly ground coffee right: Wrong it wasn't ground enough to have a fresh cup of coffee and what was ground was burnt I certainly wouldn't drink it first thing in the morning or any other time of day come to think of it I was not impressed in fact I would go as far as to say I was very disappointed in it. So now I use it for grinding my spices for cooking Its not to good for that either but its only spices and when there in food you don't notice ...
