A Player for all Seasons
Review of JVC XVS302 by
da.oleary
Advantages: Affordable, Reliable, easy to step up and use
Disadvantages: Region specific, non-recordable.
The JVC XV-S302 is a pretty standard DVD player. It has all the basics with no thrills
Without the thrills, makes this DVD simplistic and straight forward!
simplistic interface, clearly identifiable operation buttons, its idiot proof! i had no trouble setting it up, i didnt need to consult the manual at all!
It's a godsend to the technically challenged like myself!
JVC are a name you can trust, don't buy any old name. JVC products have a good ... ...do is to watch DVDs…
BUY THIS DVD PLAYER the JVC XV-S302!!!
And never think twice after!!
Expect to pay no more than €100
AND BONUS!! It will also act as a sound system playing your Audio CD's through your DVD player into your Entertainment system!! ...

Review of JVC XVNP10 by

Advantages: DivX Player, storage card player, Fast Start
Disadvantages: Not Multi Regional
...through entering a code.
With all the usual extras you would expect from a dvd player and the quality you expect from JVC and the price at Bennetts you really cant go wrong with this, and lets face it with todays computer technology who needs a multi region player anyway! ...

Excellent all round DVD player
Review of LG Electronics DNX-190 UH by
Arboy1971
Advantages: USB, DivX, multi-region
Disadvantages: Periodically loses multi-region, no USB access from remote
Had this player for over a year now and has been brilliant all round. Used remote hack to make multi-region and changed video system from PAL to NTSC (hold Pause until display on player flashes) to stop judder on playback. Has played everything I've thrown at it. It did lose it's multi region setting recently but used remote hack to re-set factory settings and then Zoran file burnt to CD to access region setting menu and now fine again. One drawback ... ...have to press a button on the DVD player to access the USB stick and this can't be done on the remote. Not a major problem though. Has HDMI out which provides better picture quality. Coaxial out for digital sound. Decodes Dolby 5.1 and DTS. As a bonus, it looks pretty sleek too. ...

Review of Samsung DVD-1080 P 7 by
lordo69
Advantages: Great quality
Disadvantages: Not very advanced interface
This DVD player is the one that i have in my lounge and is a great one in my eyes and i think i will have it for years to come. It goes very well with my sony LCD HDready television and was very easy to set up and also very quick.
It plays pretty much anything and has great quality and is very easy to use, i.e. the remote is very simple layout but with most features available.
Plus this dvd player is also a great buy because it is under £100 and ...

Samsung TV perfect companion
Review of Samsung DVD-F1080 by
tubster011
Advantages: Size, Upscaling and Sound Quality
Disadvantages: Remote control, menu system keeps forgetting settings...
This Samsung 1080p DVD player is the perfect companion for any of the latest Samsung LCD and Plasma TV's. We currently own the Q96 Plasma model and the F1080 fits just under the TV, it is smaller than the stand on the TV. But it has all of the features of the chunkier 1080p dvd players. Another plus to Samsung customers is that it has the Anynet+ function, meaning you can use the tv remote to control the DVD player. This is suggested as the remote ... ...small and useless in my view. There are a few firmware faults with this model, for example it sometimes won't play a DVD on initial startup and you have to restart the player as it just blue screens.
The upscaling quality is good, however I have only my xbox on vga connection to compare it to.
Upscaling quality: 8/10
Connections: 9/10 Remote: 2/10
Menu System: 5/10 (can be annoying at times)
Sound Quality: 10/10 (on 5.1 setup)
Anything else ...
