...get the hang of it.its got a little ledge on which you angle the basket on .if you dont do it right the basket falls right back in to the fat.it has a Removable lid for easy cleaning which sounds good but there are parts in the lid you cant get to unless you use a screwdriver.it as a Permanent anti grease filter which also sounds good untill the fryer pongs your house out.it also gets that hot you cant touch it. there are only 2 good points that ... Kenwood DF520 I have found this fryer to be an efficient addition to my kitchen. It is rather bulky so advisable to have a cupboard to store it in, for, if you are like me, it will only be used on a few occassions. It cooks well with a good range of temperatures and has a reasonable sized basket for the food to be cooked. I have gone through a few deep fat fryers (mainly because instead of cleaning it I just get a new one!!!) Anyway at the moment I have this one and so far I am impressed with it, even without a timer. Seems easier to keep clean somehow than the white ones. BUT don't do what I did ...........
