No more mouldy boots
Review of DeLonghi DEM10 Compact Dehumidifier by denella

Advantages: Avoids mould; helps dry washing
Disadvantages: Needs space both in front and behind

...dehumidifiers and came across the Delonghi DEM10 Compact, available online at both John Lewis and Amazon at the price of £99.95. I didn't want to order online as I was more than likely to be out when it was delivered, so I decided to order from my local branch of John Lewis. (I could have opted for Saturday delivery from John Lewis online for an extra £6.95, but knew it wouldn't cost that much to take a taxi home from the shop.) It was going to be ...
...tried to be more vigilant about putting the extractor fan on when I had a shower, not overwatering my plants, not leaving coffee mugs full of water while waiting to be washed, and putting washing out to dry in the garden whenever the weather was fine. I chose the compact model which has a handle at the top, and as it weighs about ten kilos I knew it would be possible for me to carry it from one room to another if need be. I'm not particularly good ... Read review

DEM damp patches cleared up
Review of Delonghi DEM 10 by hump4ever

Advantages: extracts moisture from air, really quiet, holds 10l of water, can be plumbed in
Disadvantages: diddly squat

Before getting new windows fitted we suffered from massive amounts of condensation in our home, so much so that damp had actually appeared in the corners of the room where water had run down the wall. Frankly after paying so much for a home I didn't fancy decorating for it all to be ruined while we waited to save up for the windows. My dad suggested a dehumidifer and we bought this one for £85 as it is small enough to sit in the corner of any room ...
...and inobtrusive it weighs a ton even when the drum is empty. There is some seriously heavy motor packed within the engine room of this beast so trying to move it when the 10 litre drum is full is near on impossible. What can I say about the DEM 10 but it is the best thing I have bought for my home in a very long time. When plugged in and working away it gives off a very quiet humming sound that after a few minutes seems to fade into the background ... Read review

Delonghi De Humidifier
Review of Delonghi DEC 14 by rocket1975

Advantages: Easy to move around rooms and easy to use
Disadvantages: Some people find it too noisey but I don't mind

I bought this primarily for the Bathroom as I don't have an extractor fan and I though this would be a good idea to remove the excess water. Yes I know you arent meant to use in a bathroom, but the plug is out in the hall so it's fairley safe! Good features such as an automatic switch off if you forget to switch it off, so at lease you know it won't overflow. Also it has a clear front cover so you can see then it is almost full so you can empty ...
...link it via a hose to allow the water to fully drain out so there is no need to empty as it does this via the hose - just remember to leave the hose in a sink - I think it is far easier to just empty it. It does make a noise but no more than I would expect from this type of product. Easy to move around the house for different rooms. I would advise that you dont leave it on Linoleum floors for too long as the base leaves imprints. Very easy to ... Read review

Review of Airforce Desiccant WITH Ioniser by wimblejigs

Advantages: Small, neat, efficient
Disadvantages: None in particular

No room / money for a tumble dryer, and in winter, our back room was getting damp with all the washing we put there to dry. And having the heating on and all the windows open was ridiculous. So, a dehumidifier. Description: - Neat white box, approx 18cm by 30cm by 48cm - Push button controls on the top - Auto Off feature, with "full" indicator, for when it needs emptying - Timer, 2 hour, 4 hour or 8 hour - Louvre control - wide, front, up ...
...- Auto mode - high, low, auto for fan speed. - Ioniser on / off - Carry handle - Pull out water tray for emptying, with its own handle (2 litre capacity) - Pull out air filter - Cool blue light Good Points - It does dehumidify beautifully. Our room no longer feels damp, or cold, or has mould on the ceiling. Clothes dry really quickly. - It gets rid of a huge volume of water. If you set it going overnight with some wet clothes, the water tray ... Read review
