Review of Apple iMac Core Duo 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by
browny78
Advantages: small, slim, looks cool, works and is fast!
Disadvantages: Few niggles with the Intel processors and upgraded and outpriced too quickly
...they are. As with all Apple products, as an owner you feel a sense of pride with it, unlike some PC's it becomes 'your mac' and not just 'oh that computer over there in the corner'. Even though i have never really used it, i love the remote control that is magnetically attached to the side of the monitor. A bit like an iPod Nano it controls your computer from a distance and allows you to switch between iMovie, iTunes etc.. with a click of a button...great ... ...biggest gripe however is with Apple themselves, as 3 days after i bought my iMac they upgraded the same model to a 2GHz processor and doubled the RAM to 1GB (after i had already bougt an upgrade for £40) and then cut the price by over £200!
Other great features that have been very good are built in Bluetooth, Infrared, Airport, Microphone and Webcam. These have been very usefull for transferring files from my phone, using skype to chat and use the ...

My dream mini
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.66 GHz by
screwcap
Advantages: Speed, looks, size, silence, availability of applications.
Disadvantages: None (except the keyboard and mouse, but you don't have to buy them).
...years ago. I used the Apple educational online store, with free delivery and really good telephone customer service (although it takes a while for the phone to be answered).
Being used to regular blue screens of death, to the system slowing down to a halt almost everytime I had more than 3 or 4 applications running, or if I watched a couple of videos on You Tube, to not being able to watch DVDs for fear of crashing the system and all that, it's ... ...the Might Mouse and the Apple keyboard to go with it. I only did because the Apple store in Regent St was the most convenient to reach at the time I realised I couldn't use my old mouse and keyboard (not USB), but I really regret spending that sort of money (about £50 for both of them) for something that you can't take apart nor clean. The mouse has already lost some of its functionality after only 4 months of use, possibly due to dust gathered from ...

Mac Mini, Basic offering packs a mighty punch!
Review of Apple Mac mini PPC G4 1.25 GHz by
philglen
Advantages: Small, Well Equipped & Affordable
Disadvantages: You have to get used to a new Operating System
The most basic of the Apple Mac family, all I can say is WOW! I am a Web Developer and had to do some Mac testing, so bought the cheapest Mac Option at £399, it sat on the shelf unopened for 3 months then one day I needed it. I opened the box, and rigged it all up. To cut a long story short, I now use the Mac Mini as my main computer as it is still far superior to my £1000+ PC equivalent. To sum up the product, it is small and beautiful, yet still ...

Mac Mini
Review of Apple Mac mini PPC G4 1.42 GHz by
Nerox
Advantages: Fanstastic, VERY Small Machine With Great Performance
Disadvantages: Apple Upgrades Are Expensive
The Mac, From Apple Remain The Worlds Most Reliable Computers.
With Crash-Proof Operating System And Simple, Yet Sophisticated Design And Features, Mac OS X Will Amaze You Every Time.
I have owned this particular model since August 2005, never had ANY problems, NEVER crashed, NEVER had a virus, and it has done everything i have wanted it to.
This little beast has a 1.42 GHz IBM Power Pc Processor, Which may not sound a lot, compared to new windows ... ...my 3.2 GHZ Pentium 4.
DO NOT be put off by the specs as Mac OS X will use the hardware to its full advantage and will run very fast on a processor only this speed.
For the mini itself, it is very small, has good connectivity with built in bluetooth and Wi-Fi (apples calls Airport).
Has a DVI Connector for DVI Screens & HD Tv, and an adapter for regular VGA Screens.
I really cannot see any faults for this machine, its definately the best value ...
