My new IMAC
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by jermiez

Advantages: Compact, Stylish, Value for money
Disadvantages: A little slow when opening up a number of programs at one go

Since my Toshiba M30 harddisk broke down, I decided to go for an iMac as i had been craving for one for ages!!! As a first timer using Macs, I found the controls and mouse foreign BUT it was really easy to pick it up and I found that it was so easy to open a few programs, switch to multiple views and select which one you wanted to see. An easy example would be switching between 3 webpages where you can view all 3 pages and select the one that had ...
...a fair number of programs such as word, safaris and adium, it took awhile for loading. Also, the graphic is not exactly fantastic for those art users or gamings although it is enough to view movies and meddle around. If speed is of great importance though, you can always just upgrade your ram as you buy the computer because there is only 1 ram slot. For the value, I would say this is an all round Mac with the latest technology to suit most people ... Read review

myMac
Review of Apple iMac Core Duo 1.83 GHz - 17" TFT by browny78

Advantages: small, slim, looks cool, works and is fast!
Disadvantages: Few niggles with the Intel processors and upgraded and outpriced too quickly

...they are. As with all Apple products, as an owner you feel a sense of pride with it, unlike some PC's it becomes 'your mac' and not just 'oh that computer over there in the corner'. Even though i have never really used it, i love the remote control that is magnetically attached to the side of the monitor. A bit like an iPod Nano it controls your computer from a distance and allows you to switch between iMovie, iTunes etc.. with a click of a button...great ...
...biggest gripe however is with Apple themselves, as 3 days after i bought my iMac they upgraded the same model to a 2GHz processor and doubled the RAM to 1GB (after i had already bougt an upgrade for £40) and then cut the price by over £200! Other great features that have been very good are built in Bluetooth, Infrared, Airport, Microphone and Webcam. These have been very usefull for transferring files from my phone, using skype to chat and use the ... Read review

A review by an ex windows xp user.
Review of Apple iMac Core Duo 2 GHz - 20" TFT by kieranc

Advantages: Look nice, Software is reliable, Work without any hassle
Disadvantages: Twice the cost of a windows computer

Apple have always designed nice kit but the price will keep them out of reach for most. Having had many windows computers before the mac, i was very used to the layout of windows and how to force it to work when it didnt want to. The best way i can describe a mac is that it just plain works, very little to no hassle. worth the extra money. I purchased a mac after saving up and the first thing that you notice is how well equipped they are. Built ...
...of these on a windows pc Webcam - very good quality, you would need to spend £50 to get the same quality camera for you windows pc Bluetooth - software built into the OSX, easily download photos, add music to your phone, you dont have to install anything Wireless - Normally not included in a desktop computer, built into the mac as standard. Firewire - Again not normally included in a desktop, If it is included then all you get is windows movie ... Read review

The Apple iMac - What an amazing machine
Review of Apple iMac Core Duo 2 GHz - 20" TFT by scottgintheuk

Advantages: Easy to use, brilliant software, does not crash and no viruses!
Disadvantages: None

It was about a year ago when I got fed up with my Window's PC, and gave it away. I was fed up with the viruses, trojans etc and the thing crashing all the time - fed up with troubleshooting/uninstalling and reinstalling software.. What a waste of time. I was a subscriber of a few podcasts, many people on the podcasts were praising the Mac for its ease of use, lack of viruses and an 'overall enjoyment' amongst many other things. I then decided to ...
...looked back. The software is amazing, compliments to all the Mac developers out there. Software designed for the Mac is not only beautiful, but very easy to use - you don't have to spend hours browsing through manuals. Don't think that there is a shortage of software and don't say 'Oh, if I get a Mac then I won't be able to..... ' - because there is a lot of software around for the Mac which will do just about anything. The iMac is a beautiful machine ... Read review

This is the future...
Review of Apple iMac G5 - PPC G5 1.8 GHz - 17" TFT by hijameswilhelm

Advantages: Great design, Brilliant performance, Intergrated hard-drive, Modern looks
Disadvantages: Better for buisness than gaming, Sound could be better perhaps.

...I though I'd give his Apple G5 a go just too see what it was like. What a machine! I must admit though I was fairly sceptical about Mac's before I used the machine because of all the bad press they get, but my opinion has changed completely and I thought that I'd share my new perspective with ciao! First thing that's worth I first noticed was no hard drive! Well there is but no tower. All the components for the machine are mounted cleverly in the ...
...looks incredible. It's all white, curved lines, almsot everything about it is innovative and well though through although I must admit it took me a while to get to grips with the mouse. Only one button! But it's just a matter of time before you get the hang of it. Continuing on the theme of design I almost find it hard to put into words how modern, innovative and stunning this machine really looks. Everywhere you look there's something that makes ...
