My review on Acers
Review of Acer AcerPower FH - Pentium D 925 3 GHz by
thedarkened
Advantages: Fast, reliable, good graphics, excellent motherboard, runs silently
Disadvantages: Sometimes expensive
...these computers are; my latest acer is a 3 year old notebook and it has only totally broken down once, and that was due to a hard drive failure. They also tend to react and output data very fast, with low waiting times for opening several applications, and the graphics of the computer are that which can withstand the power-hungry games of today's world, such as World Of Warcraft or Call Of Duty 4. Also, Acers generally tend to run quietly, without ... ...can leave both of my Acer computers running through the night and I still get a restful sleep without waking up to any annoying noises.
The motherboard in Acers are excellent in my opinion. They are very easy to change components e.g. upgrading your RAM or adding a new graphics card. The components are clearly shown where to put in on the motherboards, generally with bold white writing or bold green writing, depending on the colour of your motherboard.

TRUTH ABOUT ACER Aspire E300
Review of Acer Aspire E300 - Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2 GHz by
code49malcom
Advantages: compact, attractive, and performs well
Disadvantages: none
Acer is one of the market leaders in notebooks, but when it comes to buying a PC for the home, I must admit that Acer isn't a brand name that would immediately spring into my mind. However, considering that it makes some of the best value notebooks around that's probably short sighted. Indeed, is one of the few companies in the world that can make almost every component in the PC, a fact which is bound to lead to cost savings.
This seems to have ... ...However, the case on this Acer is pleasingly compact, in the main thanks to the use of a microATX motherboard. Design wise, it's quite attractive, with a futuristic sort of 'Star Trek' look to it (but in a good way) with a pleasing mix of silver and black combined with the seemingly obligatory blue lights. Fortunately, these are done tastefully, with a glowing power switch and the Aspire brand lit up from behind. Unfortunately, the look is spoilt ...

Good Home PC, Bad Gamers PC
Review of Acer Aspire E380 - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ by
naesxx
Advantages: Good Processor, plays nice with home productivity
Disadvantages: Bad graphics card, Stupid Power Button
Acer E380
I picked one of these up at comet on sale sue to a shop refurbished and as such got a display model for a bargain price of £299.99, excitement and a sense of smugness when other customers were piped to the post by me, ok it didn't have a box and need some spit and polish but it was cheap and for what it is mega cheap! In The Box (or not in my case):
You get one PC, An Acer keyboard and mouse (wired), Media Centre Remote and Receiver and ... ...time you turn on the Acer software advises you to create a restore DVD (do it) as so you can recovery from any very bad crashes or faults, the system comes preloaded with as Acer calls it "Acer ePerformance Management improves response time, releases unused memory, and enhances overall system health" I found this to be the opposite and so uninstalled as soon as I could and found performance and boot times increased but someone make like the preloaded ...

iMac Core 2 Due 20" TFT
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 20" TFT by
autonick
Advantages: Screen, Webcam, amazing processer speed
Disadvantages: With mine the Wifi can sometimes be an issue
...I bought it from the Apple store in London, where I must say the customer service is amazing and the staff had an answer to all my questions!
Before this Imac I had an Ibook G4 which was the best thing since sliced bread, thats what made me want one of these.
The IMac is all an all in one computer, all the bits are in the screen with only the keyboard and mouse separate. This makes it great for people with not so much space.
This computer is very ... ...round, the whole unit is a sort of brushed aluminum colour and my favorite bit is the small brushed aluminum keyboard, which has nice sized buttons and a nice feel to it (ie not big and chunky keys)
The IMac loads up in no time, unlike a Windows machine and within less than say 30 seconds you are ready to go.
The screen is Massive, bright and very clear, and the graphics can easily handle online TV and gaming, I use mine to play World of Warcraft ...

ibm does good again
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8795 - Pentium D 925 3 GHz by
atytyut2434
Advantages: ibms past record
Disadvantages: poor choice of graphics port
I've got one of these, in fact I'm writing this review on it right now. I bought it at my local auctions 2 years ago & I'm still getting great use out of it. It looks sleek with its all black case, keyboard & mouse.
It's really easy to do upgrades on as it requires no tools to open the case or remove any parts. I upgraded the dvd-rom in mine to a rewriter & it took minutes to do & was as quick to get running & burning with.
It might not have a ... ...games pretty well. I've been able to play both Quake 4 & Half Life 2 at fairly decent speeds.
The port to fit a graphics card is a slightly annoying issue as it's intended for a standard PCI card & I was expecting to find an AGP port but I guess thats the price you pay for buying what was only ever intended to be a business machine. On-board sound is very good, the 1gb of RAM that comes as standard is more than enough for what I use it for.
It ...
