Certainly one great camera.
Review of Nikon Coolpix 4800 by
absurd_luck
Advantages: Produces great pictures, comfortable to use.
Disadvantages: Lots of settings could get complicated for first time digital buyers.
This has got to be the best digital camera I've had so far. It creates beautiful pictures of times I want to remember. The camera itself is well designed and the shape is created for ease of use, which it definately achieves. You can take pictures one handed, and find your thumb fits automatically over the zoom button. This has got to be a highlight of the design. The camera does have a very slow start-up, and take quite a while to actually take ... ...cause severly blurred pictures. Having said that, it is also very capable of taking incredibly sharp pictures.
The optical zoom, of 8.3 is almost unheard of on cameras of this price range. And performs beauitfully. It is definately one of the best features on this camera. The features of this camera are many. This could get confusing, but it definately aids to the quality of picture. It puts the person behind the camera in control, unlike many other ...

Big beast in little package
Review of B4Udirect.com by
heypaizon
Advantages: great producing photographs/easy to use
Disadvantages: slow
A wonderful camera for the price. You can spend thousands of dollars for camera with all of the bells and whistles that you will no nothing about though out your ownership of the camera. This is a great camera for all levels of experience, but mainly for the weekend photographer. It's light weight and has everything you need to produce a magnificant peice of art. Of course you get what you pay for. The D80 can only shoot about 3 frames per second. ...

Big Camera Big Pictures
Review of Nikon Coolpix 5700 by
randomtask
Advantages: good picture quality, nice set of features, good zoom
Disadvantages: big camera, maybe too many features for what you might need?
I'm not going to post a bunch of technical specifications and random numbers which as far as the layman on camera knows mean nothing. I'll tell you about my experience with the camera and hopefully give you a good idea of what it would be like to own the camera yourself.
Ok so its a camera, lets have a look at the picture quality. The specification for the camera is 5 megapixels, this is basically the resolution of the image, 5 million pixels will ... ...zoom. So, thats a lot of pixels we have there, and they produce a wonderful image! the pictures are sharp and very detailed. The camera gives you control over internal processing algorithm parameters such as contrast, saturation and sharpness.
I won't bore you with too many words, lets have a list of some pros:
- Relatively low ISO 100 noise (grainy appearance in shadowed areas, areas of "low signal")
- Very clever 'Quick Response' shutter release ...

A good, robust digital camera
Review of Nikon Coolpix 8700 by
g0man
Advantages: Excellent picture quality and very versatile
Disadvantages: Menus take time to learn
...when I don't want to - it must be the way I hold the camera.
The cost of Nikon accessories is very high, but non Nikon copies are readily available on E-bay. I bought a remote control for £20 when I got the camera and it still works perfectly. ...

Nikon D80 DSLR + 18-135mm Nikkor lens
Review of Nikon D80 by
jeaniecz
Advantages: perfect grip, large prismatic viewfinder
Disadvantages: doesn't have internal memory
Nikon D80
My first real DSLR camera, which I have become addict to even if it requires me to learn a lot and keep challenging myself into operating it better and better ammoed with knowledge. It had been my dream to own a SLR camera, I've always had a passion for the big cameras and I was jealous of the pro photographers and the pictures they got. When I was little, my parents had an old Czech-made camera including all the stuff you need to ... ...of SLR cameras. Nikon D80 was introduced by Nikon Corporation, a Japanese company, in the end of 2006 and now quite soon its new sister D90 is expected. However, eventhough the camera's not the newest hot stuff on the market, it's a piece of quality product, which was proven by the two years it's been with us. I'm not really gonna list all the technical facts, that you can find anywhere on the internet and it's not my point anyway. I considered both ...
