Casio QV2900ux - Wierd and Wonderful
Review of Casio QV 2900UX by jouk04

Advantages: big zoom for a small camera
Disadvantages: low resolution for a high featured camera

...it would be usable, unfortunatly Casio have designed this and most of their cameras to take only the specific Casio AC adapter for this model which is around £30. The swivel lens is very usefull,as the camera has no viewfinder you must use the lcd screen to compose pictures, this means you can hold the camera at waist height swivel the lens through 90 and look down on the lcd screen. When you get used to it , its quite an interesting way of taking ...
...other unique selling point with Casio cameras, which is the "Bestshot " software loaded on the camera. This is a series of presets which are programmed in to the camera which give you the best set up for a given situation( aperture, shutter speed, etc). There are about 90 different setting ranging through macro settings landscape and portraiture, however they are great if you have time to set up the shot, but if you are taking quick action shots by ... Make it quick
Review of Casio QV 8000SX by j.burrage

Advantages: LCD Screen, Moveable view finder, and zoom
Disadvantages: Battery life

When you first use the Casio QV-8000 you think 'wow, what a great camera'. But when you actually start to use it, you get carried away with the LCD screen, good as it is, it eats batteries like you wouldn't beleive, and with no alternative, you must use re-chargeable batteries. With an 8x zoom, USB, and a 8MB compact flash card, it's really great. The menu is easy to use, and all the on-screen features are useful. On some recent occasions, heres ...
...great detail on statues, and was brilliant with the way it zoomed quickly. --Production: Not so good, as the flash wasn't being much help. This made the LCD screen virtually useless, and with the camera being on for a total of 15 minutes, the batteries were dead. This meant missing the 2nd half of Bugsy Malone. However, when the camera was dropped some time ago, the battery door broke, and is now held on with Gaffa tape. In conclusion this is ... Read review

Shooting straight in the dark
Review of HP PhotoSmart 850 by boswelox

Advantages: Picture quality, easy handling, great lens
Disadvantages: See review

...on. As it happens, the HP 850 is not universally admired by photography buffs, partly, I suspect, because it isn't made by a 'proper' camera manufacturer, and partly because you can't override all the controls and force it to take really bad pictures. However, to my mind, it offers exactly the right feature set, which is a well thought-out middle path between point-and-shoot and manual override of everything, which is only important if the automatic ...
...hot sellers nowadays... HP have also very sensibly gone to a camera maker (Fuji) for the lens, while they have applied their own expertise to the rest of the camera. The result is that the menus are very clear and intuitive, and almost any of them can be interrupted to shoot a picture simply by pressing the shutter button. The download software is equally straightforward and has the best red-eye removal tool I have seen. The camera isn't perfect, ... Read review

HP Photosmart (My thoughts)
Review of HP PhotoSmart 945 by mogbear1

Advantages: 52 Total Zoom, Easy to use
Disadvantages: Big, Slow to take pictures one after the other

...not for you. The HP Photosmart 945 is a big bulky camera with a good bit of weight in it, which for me was a plus point. When taking this camera out of the box i wondered how i would work it out but thanks to an excellent guide book which explains all you need to know very easily and also includes many easy to follow pictures to get you going. The optical zoom is 8X which gives excellent photo print outs at A4 size (i use HP Photosmart 7150 printer) ...
...connect this camera to your HP printer and print out straight away as well, which i have not used, prefering to transfer the photos onto my pc first. A docking station for this camera is also available. This camera has several modes for photo taking but every aspect can be manually changed including the white balance etc. Included in the automatic modes is a portrait mode which i have found excellent for giving good clear shots of my dogs. You also ... Read review

Panasonic Lumix DMC FS3-Simple and quality
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC FS3 by Foxy1212

Advantages: value, zoom, features
Disadvantages: probably not to good for advanced photography

...and he reccomended me this panasonic lumix camera. I have been more than happy with his reccomendation ever since, having found the camera very easy to use, but also capable of taking very high quality photographs. I would reccomend this above Samsung and Fuji cameras I have had in the past. The zoom is excellent, very defined, and the camera offers a burst feature, which allows you to take a series of photos, excellent for a moving object, and ...
...than £80 equivalent I am very pleased to have chosen this camera, as for someone who wants photos of travels and everyday life, it has more than i need, but is not at all confusing. It also comes in a range of colours so you can customise it as you wish, and once bought you will be snapping away without having to carry the manual with you for when you get confused. ...
