Best in class
Review of Fujifilm FinePix V10 by Mac2008

Advantages: Simple to use and produces great images
Disadvantages: Does not have a manual view finder (which would be of use in the dark)

I have just recently purchased this camera and, albeit it is an odd way around of doing things, thought I would check out what people had to say about it! I travel quite a bit, both personally and professionally, and wanted something to capture the moments. I have always been one to go away and just not think about taking a pic, but it wasnt until the mrs got on my case and 'asked' me to take some photos for her when I travel with work. So, the ...
...use b) Produce good quality pictures c) Must be lightweight d) And...must look good (nothing worse than whipping something out of your pocket and people looking at you in pitty and shame!!) I went on the hunt, but bear in mind that I simply do not have an idea of what the hell to look for so was instantly lost. Someone I know who is in to his photography told me that I must not get side-tracked with the number of megapixels. The difference is ... Read review

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5EB-K
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5EB-K by Tammyjo

Advantages: easy focus, 10* optical zoom, red eye reduction
Disadvantages: non

This is a very high tech camera that is easy to used. The wide angle lens captures the subject and the scene wider at the same standpoint than normal camera does and you can zoom in or out to magnify a distant subject when desired with the 10x optical zoom. There is an Auto mode, which comprises various shooting-assist functions, has been advanced for the camera by adding the Exposure feature and Digital Red-eye. It has a high-performance image-processing ...
...system. This camera is renowned for packaging a remarkable wide angle 10x optical zoom lens in a compact body. For the price, there is plenty to feel happy about
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3EB-K by DAkuma

Advantages: Intelligent Auto mode / Outstanding pictures / great build / Many features
Disadvantages: Uses Quicktime software for the movies (very minor quibble)

Firstly, I am a graphic artist, and also know a lot about photography, having owned SLR cameras with full lens filter kits/tripods etc back in the day before digital cameras. So when I wanted to buy my 3rd digital camera, I knew what to look for. I have spent long months researching review sites on the latest cameras, and there are certainly ones out there better than this, but not, I believe for the price and compactness of this. I paid £131 with ...
...my review based on this price and my very fussy needs: Build: The quality of build is excellent. It is a smart looking compact, which looks akin to the latest Nokia phones (if you buy it in black), and the buttons are solid and easy to work. I have large fingers and the only thing I found was a stretch was using the zoom dial. However, this is overcome with a very neat button next to it which instantly toggles your zooms fully back and forth between ... Read review

One gooooood camera
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 by milc03

Advantages: Good pictures, quite easy to use, good zoom
Disadvantages: lens cover isn't good, big and bulky, labels are confusing

I got this camera a few years ago and since then it has been nothing but good. First of all it takes good photos, but it is also quite easy to use but some of the labels on it are quite confusing. Another bad thing is that the lens cover isn't very well designed and breaks quite easily and didn't really stay on much to start with. However it is easy to view and the pictures and also zoom in and it has quite a good zoom. Aswell as this it boots up ... Read review

Read carefully --CANON is good choice
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS by 123ejv

Advantages: Large sensor, sharp images ,photo categorization, battery , low light autofocus
Disadvantages: Fine details lost at ISO 800, below average flash performance at telephoto

The Canon SD870 IS Digital ELPH features a compact, stylish case with rounded horizontal edges, and a retracting lens to make it pocket-friendly. With an an 8-megapixel 1/2.5" imager and 3.8x optical zoom lens, the Canon SD870 covers a range of 28-105mm equivalent, a useful wide angle to a moderate telephoto. Exposure is fully automatic, but the user can tweak it with 2.0EV of exposure compensation and four metering modes to handle difficult lighting, ...
...A long-exposure mode in the Canon SD870 IS ELPH also lets you manually set exposure times as long as 15 seconds, and a large 3-inch LCD is the sole method of framing and reviewing images, since the Canon 870 IS has no optical viewfinder. The PowerShot SD870 is, legitimately, about the size of a pack of playing cards. At 180 grams (6.3 oz), there is a good heft to the camera, giving it enough weight to keep steady while shooting. It has a solid feel, ... Read review
