...and because I trust the Sony brand however it didn't really meet my expectations. The shutter speed seems a bit slow which is a problem when I'm taking pictures of my 2 year old. I love the size because it fits in my purse and the pictures look really good when I print them. I bought this camera after becoming slightly dis-illusioned with my 5 mp Sony. The design, weight and feel are all fantastic, as is the picture quality. The only problem that I have found is navigating around the menus with the small buttons, but if you can see through that it is definately worth the investment. The 3.0" LCD allows users to see clearly the pictures that they are taking, and is the best option for taking photos on the G9.
