Sony
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 by
Justine82
Advantages: Picture quality
Disadvantages: Blurs around edges of large landscape pictures/ large groups of people.
...and because I trust the Sony brand however it didn't really meet my expectations. The shutter speed seems a bit slow which is a problem when I'm taking pictures of my 2 year old. I love the size because it fits in my purse and the pictures look really good when I print them. I was really disappointed that it didn't take an SD memory card because I had many of them from my old camera. Overall, if you are taking pictures of family and things like that ...

Canon IXUS 90 IS
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS by
Ronnie_2008
Advantages: very stylish, great features, Good detail
Disadvantages: control system, scroll pad
Canons iconic box & circle design has literally been given the chop - the top and bottom corners of the meaty, metal IXUS 90 have been beveled for a now, not then, feel. Beneath the classy surface lurks some serious tech too. The 10 megapixel photos have beautifully crisp detail and vibrant yet realistic colours, the image stabilizer is excellent and the screen is a superb 3-incher. Red-Eye Correction quickly and easily removes red-eye in camera. ... ...shoot.
Movie modes include Long Play (LP) for VGA (30fps) clips that use half the normal memory card space. Capture a gradual scene like a sunrise or blooming flowers for accelerated playback with Time Lapse movie. The face detection tech is one of my favorites of all, this will make sure you get the best out of you photos by auto setting optimum focus, exposure, flash & white balance.
Alas, the control system is a mess, not helped by a directional ...

The low cost Nikon
Review of Nikon Coolpix S500 by
shiguo
Advantages: Good color reproduction, Strong quality build
Disadvantages: wrong placing of power button, weak LCD screen
...The colour reproduction of this Nikon isn't as good as a Sony. I own another Sony T30 digital camera. I love the stainless steel body which gives me a feeling of robustness. The LCD isn't viewable under the direct sunlight which is a pity. The camera scores for its face detection technology. The lens actually moves around to scan for faces. The menu on this camera is easy to use as well. Anyone can just browse through the menu and find what they ...

Canon Digital IXUS
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS by
Ceenguyen
Advantages: Clear images, auto focus, brilliant video playback.
Disadvantages: A little bit heavy.
...clearer than the Sony T10. For those that want a slim camera, i advise to buy the Sony series or the Canon Digital IXUS I Zoom which is so cute! And for those that don't mind, this camera is definitely the one to buy for those that love taking pictures. ...

Digital Ixus 960 IS
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 960 IS by
N01ExpertOpinion
Advantages: Image quality, face recognition, viewfinder, ease of use.
Disadvantages: 3.7 zoom, user guide.
...I bought the Canon Ixus 960 IS as a solution to taking a digital SLR, plus lenses etc. due to hand luggage restrictions as it easily fits in a pocket. The image quality is pin sharp, focussing exceptional and since I have problems with camera shake due to arthritis I was overjoyed to find that the image-stabiliser technology works really well, except in the very darkest of night shots (taken on the cruise ship's deck). Facial recognition works surprisingly ... ...The 3.7x zoom is the only real drawback, but it's a small enough niggle. In use I found it easy to swap between the different shooting modes, using the scene mode for most of my pictures. The 'aquarium' mode was especially useful for photographing fish fighting over bits of bread thrown to them by a restaurant owner in Elounda and the 'night scene' mode produced some excellent quality pics of my husband, sat across from me, at an outdoor restaurant. ...
