A good, robust digital camera
Review of Nikon Coolpix 8700 by
g0man
Advantages: Excellent picture quality and very versatile
Disadvantages: Menus take time to learn
...when I don't want to - it must be the way I hold the camera.
The cost of Nikon accessories is very high, but non Nikon copies are readily available on E-bay. I bought a remote control for £20 when I got the camera and it still works perfectly. ...

Review of Nikon Coolpix 8800
Review of Nikon Coolpix 8800 by
simez77
Advantages: Compact & very light + Takes images in RAW format+8m Pixel image quality
Disadvantages: Drains Power quickly when connected to computer & while using rear view panel.
I purchased a Nikon Coolpix 8800 a few months ago as a spare back up camera to my Nikon D70. I have owned a few digital compacts & found that the 8800 is a far more versitile compact towards my earlier compacts.
This camera works brilliant with a Nikon WC-E80 Wide angle lens, this makes the Panaramic feature more usable allowing the shooter to take bigger Panaramic pictures with less shots.
I found the camera quite complicated at first, but once ... ...use this camera or a Nikon power pack wich holds 6AA batteries, I have found that the standard batteries are substandard & drain quite quickly when
using some of the features (auto focus, rear view panal, uploading images). I also find the Computer lead attachment socket awkward.
On a good note I have found the Nikon Coolpix 8800 a very versitile compact giving out brilliant image quality & definition, I would recomend that this camera is more ...

Smile!!
Review of Nikon Coolpix P1 by
sherbert999
Advantages: Excellent photo quality, very easy to use
Disadvantages: The battery isn't the best.
...of the smallest in the Nikon range, measuring only 3.6 x 2.4 x 11.5 inches. The shape of the camera makes it easy to hold, although i would still recommend that the camera strap was used as well, for extra safety!!!
The camera has a jet black metal body, with the Nikon logo on the FRONT right hand corner of the camera, written in silver and it's name (Coolpix P1) just below this. The flash is in the centre of the camera front and is around an inch ... ...holes, these are the microphones which are used when you are filming, they are very discrete, I didn't even notice them for the first few months! The BACK of the camera has a large (2.5-inches) LCD screen, along with several dials and buttons in order to operate the camera, and its various functions. In the top right hand corner is the zoom button, it is a rocker button and is very easy to control. The zoom on the camera takes little time to adjust ...

nice camera - many functions
Review of Nikon Coolpix P3 by
lkmc01
Advantages: many functions, 8.1 million mega pizels
Disadvantages: bit bulky and heavy
A great camera. If your looking for a small one then it might be a bit bulky, but has a great dial, use and internal memory. I put a1Gb card it in and get 300 ish photos. A great . It has vibrate reduction, a self timer. I have had it for a good 2 - 3 years now. Bought it for about £250. The images are transfered onto my computer by taking the SD card out and putting it in to my computer. The camera has many functions, so many that I have not got ...

Good camera with lots of potenital
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 by
adambenclegg
Advantages: Simple and takes high quality pictures.
Disadvantages: No macro mode
I got this camera as an inbetween camera when mine died. I decided to keep it and it was an excellent decision. The camera has wide range of standard functions and different modes. Some of this are quite complicated but 'Auto' works excellent none the less. The camera is pretty functional and pretty easy to figure out. Another advantage of this camera is that it uses AA batteries, rather than a camera specific battery. One drawback however is that ...
