A great camera in its day
Review of Ricoh Caplio R4 by
LJJames
Advantages: Small, light, great 7.1 optical zoom lens, lots of features to change settings, long battery life
Disadvantages: Bit old now, flash can be covered by a stray finger
At 6 megapixels, it's not a class leader any more but that's more than enough for day to day shooting. What impressed me the most when I bought this camera 3 years ago was the lens - an impressive 7.1 optical zoom. This is double what you get in most compact cameras which means you can get closer to the subject you are photographing. It is also quite small and light, perfect for carrying around in a pocket. The screen is big and clear and the functions ... ...can't use the zoom whilst filming.
The only real negative is that it is a bit old now and there are better cameras on the market but you can't go wrong with this one if the price is right. I still use this one as my main camera. I particularly liked the fact that it was black when so many other compact digitals are silver. ...

Super easy use camera for holidays
Review of Ricoh Caplio R1 by
oldwasp
Advantages: Macro, Slim Design, Superfast startup.
Disadvantages: Poor Night Photos
Ricoh Caplio R1
Lenght 10cm Depth 5.5cm and less than 2.5cm Thick which is quiet amazing because on start up the lense comes out just under 2cm and 3.5cm at full zoom.
The R1 is silver as the picture shows but also comes in black.
The lens is a wide angle 28mm lens with a zoom upto 135mm and a macro mode that allows you to focus as close as 1cm now that is dam good.
Another amazing thing about this camera is the shutter respons time, which i ... ...a quick overview of the Ricoh Caplio R1 now a bit more indepth details.
The front of the camera has a flash which has a rangeof 0.2 to 2.7m (w)and 0.13 to 2.1m (t).Flash can be set to off, auto, redeye forced flash and slow synchro. The camera takes ok photos at night with other lighting but when it is very dark the pitures turn out very grainy.
To open the lens cover you slide the power switch across and the cover opens and out pops the lens.

Good camera with lots of potenital
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 by
adambenclegg
Advantages: Simple and takes high quality pictures.
Disadvantages: No macro mode
I got this camera as an inbetween camera when mine died. I decided to keep it and it was an excellent decision. The camera has wide range of standard functions and different modes. Some of this are quite complicated but 'Auto' works excellent none the less. The camera is pretty functional and pretty easy to figure out. Another advantage of this camera is that it uses AA batteries, rather than a camera specific battery. One drawback however is that ...

Nikon D80
Review of Nikon D80 by
wikirapid
Advantages: Best Feature in Great Price
Disadvantages: None
...of fantastic picture quality. The Nikon D80 is an enthusiast's dream and is incredibly rewarding to use. I had always a dream of buying Nikon D200 but with the release of D80 in much more economical price and the features somehow same to the D200, I was impressed. It has a new and improved 10.2-megapixel image sensor. It is an interesting mix of point-and-shoot and serious camera, Nikon's D80 has been touted as a 'little sister' to the D200 model ...

Good Camera > Bad Photographer!!!
Review of Kodak EASYSHARE M753 by
littlemissloud
Advantages: Auto makes it easy to use
Disadvantages: Some times all the settings confusing (stick to auto!!!)
...quality at a good price. Kodak is an easily recognised brand and therefore in my opinion reliable.
I bought the M753 fot £79.99 from argos about 4 1/2 months ago.
i have found it easy to use with an array of different settings. I particularly use the colour change feature a lot (b/w ect.) I have at times felt a little overwhelemed with the number of settings and tend to stick to auto as im am not entirely sure how effective some of the settings ...
