Disadvantages: major problem after using lightscribe

...never had any problems with asus products until now. Everything was working fine until I used the lightscribe function for the first time, now it absolutely refuses to recognise any cd, dvd's work perfectly, both reading and writing, but when a cd is loaded all the drive does is make a hell of a racket. The drive is exactly one week old so my course of action was to go to the Asus web site to see if it was possibly something simple like a software ...
...mine to the re-seller but am having serious doubts about getting the same model. I will gladly stick with Asus, they are a very reliable company, just not a model with lightscribe. Asus really needs to sort this out before a lot more buyers encounter the same problem. ... Read review

Disadvantages: Be careful why you want a burner.

Advantages: Dual Layer
Disadvantages: Slow loading Vista with setup screen and overall poor

I really dont like these LG Drives. I will explain why They are so slow I loaded vista on one of my pcs and it took ages to even get though the setup screens. Its quite fast burning dvds however i have notice that the NEC Drives are alot faster in both loading software, vista and doing cds and dvds. I am quite disapoinent with these as i brought serveral and the performance is naff. I would recommend using a NEC Drive or one simular. Big disapointment. ...
...findings. The cd on the LG (This one was behind 1 and half cds than the philiips which was roughly 8 mins difference it was that bad! DVD Wise The Philips finished 5mins before this LG Drive did. Both machines were the same specification and the same media player burner media player 11 with windows vista! So there you have it a performance match where this drive failed big time. Sorry.. ...
