My first DVD Writer from LG(I now have 3)
Review of LG GSA 4120B by benzas

Advantages: Writes to all 3 formats,
Disadvantages: outdated now

...bought two of the newer LG GSA 4163BB Drive. This will write to DVD+RW dual layer as well, but is not as fast as some modern drives, having a maximum write speed of 12x, the maximum you can get is 16x and all new LG Writers support this and both DVD-R and DVD+R dual layer formats. There really is no reason to choose any other writer. This does more than all the rest, with excellent build quality, and doesn't cost a penny more. I recommend using it ... Read review

I liked my last LG so much, i bought 2 of these!
Review of LG GSA 4163B Super-Multi by benzas

Advantages: Fast, reliable, writes to all formats and dual layer
Disadvantages: there is one newer model

I've reviewed the excellent LG GSA 4120B DVD-writer, and having owned it for 1.5 years, i got a new computer and needed some DVD-writers, so Sept 2005, i bought two of these, thats how much i trusted the quality of LG Super Multi Write Technology, and i haven't been let down. The only difference between the these and the slightly newer GSA 4167B is that these can only write to DVD+R dual layer, whereas the 4167B can write to both DVD+R dual layer ...
...since dual layer media is quite expensive. The beauty of these machines, apart from their smart black exterior is that they can write to all three formats, DVD-,DVD+ and DVD-Ram. Almost everybody else does not support the DVD-Ram format, which is surprising since it is actually technologically much more advanced. Unlike normal CD's and DVD's DVD-Ram does not have to write all it's information outwards from the centre of the disc in one steady stream. ... Read review

A great drive, especially if you need DVD-RAM
Review of LG GSA H22N Super-Multi by ilaskey

Advantages: Fast, especially DVD-RAM, reads and writes everything
Disadvantages: No lightscribe

The LG GSA H22N Super-Multi is one of the first drives to up the maximum speed to 18X for DVD writing. Whilst not a huge increase on the 16X drives, it's a welcome boost. The various speeds and media types supported are: Read speed: 48x (CD) / 16x (DVD) Write speed: 48x (CD) 18x (DVD±R) 8x (DVD±R DL) Rewrite speed: 32x (CD) 6x (DVD-RW) 8x (DVD+RW) 12x (DVD-RAM) Far more of interest is the support for DVD-RAM which many consider a superior format ...
...over the years and the LG ones have tended to be the most reliable and smoothest to work with. The LG GSA H22N can be picked up for around £24 or less which is a good price for this kind of performance. If only dual layer disks had gotten a little cheaper... Overall a very nice drive for the price. It would have been nice to have Lightscribe for adding custom labels to suitable blank DVDs but apart from that there is little to complain about. ... Got a Floppy Disk?
Review of Freecom Floppy disk drive 1.44 MB by burns2007

Advantages: Quick, Easy, Reliable, Small, Fits into any pocket or bag
Disadvantages: Faded out use lately

I originally bought this external floppy drive a few years ago after the standard for laptops was not to have an inbuilt floppy drive already in them however at the time floppy disks were still in use from time to time. It doesn't mean that this can't be used for desktop computers that don't have internal floppy drives. Power ********* Usually when having an external device like an external hard drive or optical drive you would usually need more ...
...the power into a power socket in the wall and a separate cable to send and receive data between the device and the computer however with this external floppy drive it has completely changed. Now all that is need with this floppy drive is simply just one USB cable with a mini USB connected to the drive making it quick and easy to use when your on the move as well as easy to fit and store on the move with no extra cabling which could possibly get tangled ...
