Impressed!! Worth buying Fridge Phonics Letter Set
Review of Leap Frog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set by kes1972

Advantages: Totally English Speaking (no Zeee's)
Disadvantages: No disadvantages

This is a wonderful little toy from "Leapfrog" which helps to teach the alphabet in full english. I tend to get fed up with hearing the "zeee's" in talking toys, so it is a pleasure to hear the standard "Zed". This toy is wildly available from most toy shops. It is colourful and sings the alphabet when pressed. It has interchanging letters so that you can hear the sound of each letter seperately. It has an "off" switch and two sound levels. It takes ...
...and they are easy to replace using a Phillips Screwdriver. The unit its self is approx 3" x 3.5" and the letters are about 1" x 1.5" and the letters fit perfectly in the unit without any trouble. The reason I love this toy is beacuse it is magnetic and sticks to the front of our fridge.... It is perfect for me to keep an eye on my son and keep him occupied whilst I am in the kitchen cooking. My son totally loves this toy and can now sing along to ... Read review

Find the letter.................
Review of Leap Frog Word Whammer Fridge Phonics by piggypine

Advantages: Educational, great quality, reasonable price.........
Disadvantages: None.

I chose the Word Whammer for Christopher after he started nursery last September, he's the youngest in his year and in our area the older children start nursery in the April and gradually stagger the intake until the last child starts in September, he's a smart kid but I couldn't help worry that he might be a bit behind the older kids who had so many more months of nursery behind them and thought the Whammer would be the perfect toy to encourage ...
...a magnetic play set consisting of the main unit and 32 letter pieces, designed to teach children the look, sound and name of letters as well as encouraging spelling and rhyming. The Word Whammer has 3 play modes chosen by moving the yellow slide to the matching mode symbol, the 3 play modes are "Letter Hunt" where you learn letter names and sounds through fun songs, "Word Builder" where you explore combinations of different letters with the aim of ... Great learning tool
Review of Leap Frog Leap Pad Leapster by ruthstewart

Advantages: Teaches writing, drawing & sums
Disadvantages: Costs a lot on batteries

I got the Leapster for my daughter when she was just over 2 years old. She is now almost 4 and still enjoys it. There are a variety of games which get more advanced as the child gets older. My daughter especially enjoys the drawing games which show her how to trace over pictures. As a result, she has become great at drawing all sorts of things. The batteries lasted well but we also bought a plug in adapter which helped. We got it because it plugs ... Read review

Geomag - an addictive toy for grown up children!
Review of Geomag SA geomag by jmarko

Advantages: Cheap to start a little collection; hours of entertainment; will bring out the child in you!
Disadvantages: Ever so slightly addictive!

Geomag is a toy made primarily of rods with magnets at either end and little metallic balls (you can also get panels that fit in the gaps of square shapes and so on). They come in a range of bright and fun colours and you can also get glow in the dark pieces! Each rod is approximately 2 cms long but you can make massive structures out of them! Geomag came on the scene back in 1998 and has become a modern day lego (not that lego does not exist any ...
...to almost 8000 pieces! Geomag is an excellent toy that is great fun for all ages. It has a more adult feel than lego and is very tactile. It also looks like an more 'grown-up', executive toy - so big boys and girls can leave it out around the house without embarrassment! Indeed, it is fun to make up a structure and leave it on a mantelpiece (and of course much tidier than leaving all the bits around the living room!). Like lego, Geomag as the advantage ...
