Review of Galt Cotton Reels by
mumsymary
Advantages: good for fine motor
Disadvantages: ?
...ones we have bought from galt toys. They are identical to the ones you buy with cotton thread on except these are brightly coloured red green yellow blue. They come with a threading cord too. You get 20 cotton reels in a put for £3.99p. 20 are enough to thread a couple of necklaces. These cotton reels can be bought at toy shops or at http://www.mailorderexpress.coml. So why might you want these for your child? Well they are good for practicing those ... ...and concentrate on a task. The bright primary colours will assist in learning their colours and colour recognition. You can also use them for simple maths counting how many as you thread them. Or simple additions count the red ones on the necklace and then the blue ones, how many altogether. You can use these to do sequencing red reel first then yellow now blue, a red one again then yellow and now blue another red one. All this helps prepare your ...

First bricks
Review of Galt First Bricks by
mumsymary
Advantages: good wooden bricks
Disadvantages: none
Galt first bricks. I was tidying up the wooden bricks at school and found that some of them were the Galt first wooden bricks. They looked quite old so they have worn well. These wooden bricks fit into the wooden Galt baby walker.
These bricks are a good quality wood .
Thes bricks are brightly coloured. some have animals painted onto them. The corners are rounded the surface smooth not splintered. They are 5cm. 2inches square. There are 24 bricks ... ...with other bricks.
Cost about £14.99 from Galt shops or online. Galt toys are a make That are good long lasting and safe so they are ones I would be very happy to recomend
Thanks for reading, have fun playing with your baby and their bricks. Mary ...

jmk4646
Advantages: can be used a number of different ways, making the marble run

i keep this toy at my house for my grand children aged 7 yrs,5 yrs 3 yrs & 2 yrs.
they all like playing with it & all get different things from playing with it.
the 7 yr old enjoys building it up while the youngest is happy to drop a marble in at the top and watch it make its way to the bottom via the various obsticles.

Absolutely inappropriate game for children
Review of Galt Horrible Science - Blood, Bones and Body Bits by
lringley
Advantages: I can't see any
Disadvantages: It is totally sick
Although I did not purchase this "toy," I was horrified when I saw in the toy aisle at Target in Tulsa, OK. What is this kind of toy teaching children? This isn't "science" - this is SICK! And it's labeled for kids eight and older - what are we trying to do - turn our kids into serial killers? There are a lot better ways to present science in a fun way to children without making it so sickening and potentially damaging to them. What's next - a game ... ...asking Target to pull it from their shelves. Kids have enough dangers today to avoid, like the Internet, chat rooms, pedophiles, even the media, without their toys giving them nightmares. Please think about this before you put out another "toy" like this. Leslie Ringley, Tulsa, OK - lesliejean1@hotmail.com ...

L Max Leapster from Leapfrog
Review of Leap Frog Leapster L-Max by
jaffasmith
Advantages: Learning tool that keep children occupied
Disadvantages: Takes 4 batteries
We brought the IMax for our eldest daughter when she was 4 ,She is now nearly 7. The L Max is a handhand games console designed for the younger child as a educational toy and is aimed at children 4 to 10yrs. The console and cartridges can be brought from most large stores / toy shops. You buy games cartridges but it does have some preprogrammed games already so you do not have to but extra cartridges. Helps children with spelling. numeracy tasks ... ...cant get it away from her little sister. Our youngest has been playing it since she was 2 1/2 shes now 3 & abit. She loves the painting programme. She can access it and get to the paint option by herself. Takes 4 AA batteries but they last a while. We did buy the adapter but youngest keeps tripping over the wire so we have had to go back to batteries. This goes every where with us shopping, holidays, car etc. You can always find deals on the cartridges ...
