Lush Chorus
Review of Boss Super Chorus CH 1 by
Paolo1
Advantages: Lush sound
Disadvantages: CE5 better for same price
...as it produces the same range and quality of sounds for the same price, but it allows slightly extra tone control.
The construction is excellent as with all boss pedals and I have no doubts that it will last as long as you own it. ...

Review of Boss Super Overdrive SD-1 by
MonkeyboyUK
Advantages: Good starter pedal.
Disadvantages: It's nowhere near a Big Muff.
Boss can always be relied on to produce (at least) competent effects at a reasonable price. The SD-1 is just such a pedal, with the added bonus of being extremely simple to use, as it only has three knobs (volume, tone and drive).
When turned on, it produces a decent enough overdrive mode, although nothing that will take your head off. I'd recommend it to effects-novices who are buying their first few pedals, and aren't particularly clued-up on ...

Truely awsome and underated Overdrive pedal
Review of Digitech Bad Monkey Overdrive by
col_death
Advantages: Analog overdrive circuitry, vintage overdrive tone, great as a channel booster
Disadvantages: Battery life isn't great
...an alternative, and found the Digitech Bad Monkey. After listening to some sound samples I decided that it was a perfect booster for my amp. And it is...
What's great about this little green pedal, is the tone that you get from it. It is just like a vintage valve (Tube) amp. It has that warm break-up that you'd expect to hear from a valve driven amp, and none of that over compressed digitized sound that you get from a lot of "overdrive" pedals. ... ...many "overdrive" pedals.
The pedal has 4 controls and 2 output jacks (amp out for guitar amps, and a emulated cabinet out for recording, etc.);
Level - control the output of the pedal, so you could have that cranked up to physically overdrive your amp if you wanted.
Low - this is a tone crafting control, you can use it to cut or boost the bass response of the "tube".
High - another tone crafting control, used to cut or boost the high frequencies ...

Set Phasers To EVIL Prog Rock
Review of Danelectro DJ6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal by
Champ666
Advantages: ---------------------------
Disadvantages: ---------------------------
For a number of years Danelectro have been making these rather stylish looking easy to use retro pedals. I have always been rather taken by their looks, and as I have stated in previous reviews guitars sound better with effects pedals and you can never have too many, which is why when I saw this little baby in Dawson’s Music in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester going for £15 I decided why not get this one too. So what is a Phaser then? Well below is ... ...really great with other effects. Danelectro have kept the design and controls rather basic which is a good thing for beginners, hoverer it is not as sturdy as the Boss pedals in their sturdy Stomp Boxes, which is a pity as it is the only thing that lets this pedal down.

the colour of rock is orange
Review of Boss Distortion DS-1 by
battery
Advantages: solid construction, good price, easy to use, great sound
Disadvantages: those after a little more control over thier sound might want something else
i brought this as my introduction into floor peddles, but it would be wrong to look at it like that, i now see it as more of a life time investment. built so solidly that it will take all your bedroom rocking, stage abuse and other nasties that seem to affect items that spend their life on the floor. stomp until your hearts content your foot will break well before the DS-1 does! it is an incredibly simple peddle to use, a tone control, a level control ... ...adds to its durability and ease of use, i can be a drawback for the peddles flexibility in shaping sound. that said, its a distortion peddle and does exactly that, and goes some way to produce a range of tones from a hard distortion to a bluesy gain, to a more subtle volume boost. and the quality of sound that it produces has been proven by many renowned artists to be good enough in the studio and on stage. though being a digital peddle it can lack ...
