...other alternative as recommended by Dreamland is to turn the dial setting down to about 1-3 and switch to continuous heating if you want the blanket on all night. However, I have tried this (I have a 12 tog duvet) and found that I got too hot. But that's not so say that the elderly or those who feel the cold more might find this a useful setting.
