Camp Champ!
Review of DJ Kicks - Tiga (Mixed By Tiga) - Various Artists by seismicjab

Advantages: Nice variation of electro, house, disco and techno
Disadvantages: Camp overtone

One of the many infamous DJ Kicks albums, this one from the electro king of camp - Tiga. Tiga's, from Canada been around for many years, owns his own electro/house label called Turbo. I have been a fan of his music and mix CD's since I started gaining an interest in electroinc music. Some of his early CD's and productions were more on a techno vibe with his latest stuff on the more electro housey tip. Anyhow, this DJ Kicks installation is an oldy ...
...in the series. The style of it is mainly electro house with hints of disco and techno thrown into the mix, all tracks seemlessly mixed together in a nice progressive order. There is also quite a camp element in the album as he is prone to getting on the mic and singing a few lyrics. This is apparent in Miss Kitten's classic 'Madame Hollywood' which he has changed to 'Mr Hollywood' with the addition of some pretty camp lyrics but still quirky and ... Read review

Best Classic Trance CD Available
Review of Classic Trance Anthems - Various Artists by sm276

Advantages: All top tracks
Disadvantages: None

...I preferred instead to buy classic albums (such as the Annual 4, Trance Nation 4 etc...), but this CD really does break the mould. This CD unlike all of the others around has 3 CD's packed with TOP tracks, rather than 20 - 25 great tracks and 15 - 35 filler tracks on all of the other classic albums. I would definetely recommend this to any other trance fan. Especially fans of 98 - 02 (when IMO Trance was at its finest). In conclusion - TOP CD ... Read review

Daft Punk certainly done thier Homework!!
Review of Homework - Daft Punk by seismicjab

Advantages: Brilliant diversity, pioneering filtered French electronics
Disadvantages: NOTHING!

This is Daft Punk's first and by far the best album they have released to date. It is by the far the least commercial and most underground release as the newer releases like 'Discovery' tend to go a bit on the poppy side which is expected due to their success. If you like that filtered French house sound this album ticks all the boxes. As well as the distinct sound theres lots of variation with some of the tracks bordering on techno. Favourite Tracks: ...
...tracks of all time - funky and fresh Da Funk - Twisted downbeatish sort of breaks track - awesome video also Burnin' - Filtery and funky house track - definitely a pioneer with the likes of Junior Jack and numerous other house producers following the trend. Rollin' & Scratchin' - Tough and technnoey - Chicago influences apparent, contains some lovely crazy noises and whooshes also If you are a techno enthusiast, please check out this page for ... Push the Button pushes some of the buttons!
Review of Push The Button - Chemical Brothers (The) by seismicjab

Advantages: Diverse, A couple of brilliant tracks
Disadvantages: Not as good as other Chemical Borothers albums but still worth a listen!

'Push The Button' - Chemical Brothers second newest album is as expected a quality and diverse combination of variuos styles of electronic music as all of the Chemical's albums. Some nice guest appearence's also from Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest and Tim Burgess from the Charlatans. The album contains styles such as elecro house, techno, hip hop, breaks and indie. Although I do rate this album highly, I would not class this by no means as one ...
...'Dig Your Own Hole' and even the latest release 'We Are The Night'. Favourite tracks: Galvanise feat. Q-Tip - Awesome hio hop house fusion. This i sprobably the most famous track on the album, did extremely well in the charts. Bit of an asian music influence apparent Come Inside - Nice pumping breakbeat track with some strong percussive elements and some nice twisted vocals Believe - Tough electro house pounder containing some wicked noises and ... Pendulum - Hold your Colour
Review of Hold Your Colour - Pendulum by laurenjade109

Advantages: Unique, mood-lifting, guaranteed to love this is you are a drum and bass fan.
Disadvantages: None

Probably the best album i have ever purchased. Pendulum offer a totally different sound to what is available from the music industry at the moment, and always have based on previous albums. I took an instant liking to this unique and varied 'drum & bass' sound when i heard the song 'Blood Sugar'. The intro to this particular song, almost lures you into loving it. 'Ladies and gentlemen, we understand that you have come tonite to bear witness to the ... Read review
