Hi , Having never owned a coffee machine but being a coffee fan, we bought this 18 months ago from tesco as it was on sale at £35 . first appearances on unpacking the machine was its flimsy build quality, I was sure it would not last 5 minutes. Never the less i pressed on and turned to the instructions which were well written and exhaustive. The machine will make 10 cups of filter coffee and keep that warm. however I am not a big fan of that side ...
...quite quickly when left to stand. The other side to the machine does a great brue although the cap to the water tank can be fiddly to remove / replace and my missus struggles greatly with this. the steam nozzle on the side does a great job of frothing the milk for the cappucino. all in all not a bad machine which has proved me wrong with its durability. ... I moved earlier this year and my old filter coffee maker was damaged in transit. So I went on the hunt for a new one. I bought in Curries. What appealed to me about this one was that it had filter, expresso and cappachino, with a sensible price tag. Upon bringing it home we used straight away, I was surprised how quickly it made filtered coffee. ...and cappachino functions are top notch too, reminds me of the coffee I used to drink when I lived in Spain, that is a good thing (nostalgia). The 2 litre water capacity will make 8 cups of coffee or 4 decent mugfulls, and you don't have to mess with filling the reservoir in situ and spilling water, as the reservoir is removable and can be filled from the tap. Im a great lover of milky coffee's, latte's etc and regularly buy these from the high street coffee shops at a price of about £2 each. I thought wouldnt it be great if i caould drink these at home without just heating milk in the microwave, as it is the steam in the breville that makes your drink what it should be ! It is so easy to use, just take your instant coffee granules, your choice of milk, whack em in the machine and youve got a lovely frothy cappuccino, latte, or even hot chocolate, you can also replace the milk with water to just make regular black coffee's etc. I would recommend that you use a good quality coffee granule, my fave is from M&S !
