Fox Warrior
Review of Fox warrior xt carp rods by whitby_qpr

Advantages: Cheap and very effective
Disadvantages: none

...such as fox. Having brought fox products before I have never been disappointed by the quality so when I realised fox where producing such a cheap rod I felt I had to try it. To be honest it was so inexpensive that I doubted it at first when I definitely shouldn't of but now I have it I have caught many carp on it the biggest being 36lb. It handles all fish exceptionally well as absorbs most of the pressure so you don't have to. Casting wise again ... Read review

Best back up rod
Review of Shimano exage stc spinning by seaweed78

Advantages: Very good flex distribution for multi-piece rod
Disadvantages: Handle and guide could be better for its price

...vey good achievement for the Shimano research team. It almost feel like 1 piece rod. I have taken this rod for crappie coarse fishing, spinning, carp fishing and even casting for mackerel from shore. It serve me best on my spinning session where I hooked up bunch of double figure pike. Due to its stiff flex, it is nice to use this rod to give a reasonable hard strike to hook the fish, but I am always struggling on landing carps on this rod. I paired ...

Broomsticks - Not the 13ft 3lbs Fox Extreme rods
Review of Fox Extreme Carp Rods 13ft 3lbs tc by yackers1

Advantages: very strong yet light with good feel
Disadvantages: Can be a handful in tight swims

...across a pair of the Fox Extreme rods whilst looking for a pair of rods for an up and coming trip to France. I went to a local dealer to ask for something heavy duty that wasn't a fortune. The intention was to use these rods purely for my trips abroad and nothing else. I was showed the Extremes and was instantly amazed at how slim and light they were. They also felt very well balanced. In addition they were a nice matt grey finish and looked quite ...
...my pod. The dealer offered me the pair for £150 since he had vast numbers that were not shifting. Getting two rods with an RRP of £140 each for £150 was a deal that I could not refuse. If I didn't like them I could just chuck them on Ebay and get my money back. Upon arrival at the lake in France I eagerly set up. Obviously the first thing to do is to put a single bait on each rod, chuck them out and then take time puttting up the bivvy, sorting ... Read review

Shimano Barbel tamer!
Review of Shimano hyperloop barbel by lucasc896

Advantages: Takes alot of stick!
Disadvantages: Not much

A great all round speciment/coarse rod. Unlike bulky, clumsy carp rods, the Hyperloop Barbel is smooth and gentle. I have used it in many situations including light bream fishing, carp and medium/heavy river fishing aswell as light/medium float fishing. This rod has also been used for spinning, including light sea/estuery legering/floating giving great results and coping well. It is a great all round rod that I would not be without. I am not into ...
...suited to me. It incorporates a great reel seat, providing a strong base a comfortable position. Nice big eyes on the rings give a good line feed. This rod also has a very nice through action. It is suitable for nearly all sorts of fishing and I sincerely recommend it to anyone not wishing to fork out loads on some fancy, higher priced rod. ... Read review
