Magnificent Marshall!
Review of Marshall MG50DFX by jassm

Advantages: Value for money, features, tone, volume
Disadvantages: none

Having joined my first 'proper' band in about 13 years I was in need of upgrading my 10w practice amp to something which would hold it's own in both a rehearsal studio and for pub gigs. As my main guitar is a Gibson Les Paul I instantly turned my attention to Marshall, as for years Les Paul's and Marshall's have been a dream combination! Unfortunately I didn't have a huge budget to play with, but managed to scrape together around £200 so this was ...
...music shop I done a bit of web research and decided that the MG50DFX was probably the best amp to meet my needs. When I did come to try one out I was instantly impressed with the tone, all the features, and the power! I swiftly made a purchase and have now been using the amp for just over a year and it is a great performing bit of kit. It's been used for regular rehearsals and I have not yet had to turn it up more than 2/3's as the volume is amazing. ... Read review

Marshall MG30DFX : A Poor Imitation
Review of Marshall MG 30 DFX by triztanwillis123

Advantages: Cheap and loud
Disadvantages: lacks a real something, uninspiring tone

...awesome. It didn't recreate the marshall tone of my heroes. It didn't have any edge. This amp is fine for a beginner. When you can just about play something, any sound is good enough. But i bet as you get better, this amp will soon because tiresome, because it doesn't highlight your technique. Presonally, I would buy something like a Line 6 Spider, a Roland Cube 30, and i would try the Marshall Hybrid AVT 20, to see if it fits the bill. A fine beginners ... Read review

Rock out baby
Review of Marshall MG15 DFX by ashlemacq

Advantages: Price, Quality, features. Line out.
Disadvantages: Poor distortion. Some effects not very good.

...Build Quality The usually Marshall quality. I could drop this from my window and it would be ok. A very sturdy unit. The unit also has a carry strap at the top to carry the amp around. Very easy to move about. Price I paid £80 for mine and that is quite dear for this item. You can pick it up for around £70 I believe. Now for the important stuff! Features. Ok in short let's run through exactly what's on the amp then we will explore each feature ...
...as you look at the picture. Line in - volume - the small black switch is to engage/disengage overdrive - Gain - Gain volume - then the EQ, Bass - Contour - Treble - Then the Digital FX, Preset adjustment - fx level, next small black switch is fx engage/disengage. CD In/Line out - Headphone - Power. Line In Easy enough, lead from your instrument is plugged into here. Volume This is the clean volume. It raises and lowers the volume of the amp clean ... Mini amp!
Review of Marshall MS 4 by joefireline

Advantages: Very small, portable, light, loud for the size, long battery life
Disadvantages: Doesn't compete with drum kit? Hmm...

...even a bit of that marshall tone. Although nothing compared to a full 30W Marshall amp, it certainly isn't bad! You have a input socket and 9V input if you want it to be powered by mains to the left side, and a output socket to the right. There are 4 controls and a little LED light on the front. From the left, is Gain, Volume, Tone, then ON/OFF switch, with a power LED to the far right, to indicate power on. This also dims if you put it on too loud. ...
...the amp up, which is somewhat helpful, and at the bottem back of the device is the 9V battery holder. On the top there is a completely pointless fake handle, have no idea what the point in this is... Overall, a pretty good portable amp. If you're looking for a good portable amp, which costs near to nothing, this is perfect! ... Read review

Nice pice of kit for the price
Review of Marshall MS 2 by andrewpledger91

Advantages: Portable, oher uses
Disadvantages: Poor OD Channel

This amp has got 1 volume, 1 tone and one Off/Clean/OD knob. It has a single input at the front and a headphone out on the side. As stated above it has a clean and an overdrive channel, the latter being much louder. I mainly use this amp when I'm playing in the garden or outside. I also use it as an iPod speaker thanks to a patch cable and a jack adapter. I play too many styles to mention and it handles about half of them. One feature I wish this ...
...be very weak. I use this amp with a Harley Benton superstrat or with an Epiphone LP 100. As mentioned with a bit of coaxing it can cope with some of the styles I play. The distortion is not brutal enough unless it is cranked which leads to quite a lot of unwanted fizz. When either of the channels is over about half the start to break up and distort, this adds some crunch to the clean channel and a bit too much fizz to the OD channel. So far nothing ... Read review
