Cheap and Cheerful
Review of Nclarke NCG7 Professional Ceramic by dmilnerharris

Advantages: Heat up quickly, light
Disadvantages: Power cord gets tangled easily

I have had these straighteners for a while now, so I have had time to get used to them. At the time they were one of the best ‘cheap’ end straighteners you could buy. With having the ceramic plates they heat up quite quickly, usually to the top temperature in two-five minutes. The plate size is quite small so was ideal when I had short hair; they took no time at all to get that sleek look. It used to take me about 5 minutes to get dead flat hair ...
...have to maybe go over some bits again before I went out, but don’t we all! However, as my hair has grown I find that they don’t cope to well with thick hair, and also hair that is not bone dry. For example if you was, dry then try to straighten your hair all at once you will not get that professional straight look, more of a half hearted, slightly more bodied flyaway look. Since having longer hair I have also found that they get too hot for your ... Read review

No short cut with these straighteners
Review of Nclarke NCS10 by Marans

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Difficult to get a good result

Now, I'll begin by admitting I'm a bit puzzled and I'll tell you why. I settled down to write about my Nicky Clarke hair straighteners. I've used these on and off (excuse the pun) for about a year now, so I think I'm ready to comment on them. But heres my problem. Which model am I using? It all seemed very simple. The model number was on the box and also stamped into the plastic handles, so I'm sure we're talking about the NCS 10. With me so far? ...
...and was suprised to see it mentions a heat-dial, as the spec. for this model says it shouldn't have one. Then I find that this model doesn't have a brush with it, but mine does. So now I wonder if all Mr Clarkes minions are economising on packaging by using the same label on diferent models. You see? It just gets worse. Now you've been warned you may not be getting what you expect when you read the spec. so let's take it from here and find out more. ... Read review

Babyliss pro 230 hair straightners
Review of Babyliss Pro 230 Ceramic Tourmaline 230°C Hair Straighteners by billiejean2005

Advantages: Changing temp, long wire, smooth plates
Disadvantages: n/a

I've owned these straightners for approx 6 months and i couldnt live with out them! I have a lot of hair and quite wavy and they are fab for making your hair look fine silky and pin straight. They heat up in approx 2 mins to there full temp of 230 but you can range the temp for 180 right up to 230 and it shows on a digital screen on the top of the straightners they also have a salon style lenght wire so no moving your mirror to the nearest plug socket! ... LUV IT!!
Review of Remington Wet 2 Straight Slim by hellobex001

Advantages: easy to use, makes hair soft, silky and shiny
Disadvantages: gets very hot, damages hair

MY EXPERIENCE Wellll I bought these straightners last year with my christmas money and there were definetly worth the money!. They make my hair perfectly straight and silky, just the way i like it ,with mininum effort! My hair is neither straight or curly, it is sort of inbetween. I normally just wear it slightly wavy and messy but I started to become bored with this style and wondered how I could get it straight and silky. I decided to try ...
...not having to blow dry my hair before straightening it. When i first tryed them out on hair i couldnt believe the effect it had, it was like i had gone to the hairdressers and had it blow dryed straight except it was even better and so shiny!!. The only problem that i have with them is that sometimes if i use them on my hair and it is very wet, hot water drips out and can burn my skin so i now have to wait about 30 mins after washing my hair to use ... Best straighteners I've ever had
Review of GHD MK4 Straightener by MrsNL

Advantages: Quick heat up, great on my hair
Disadvantages: expensive

After years of buying cheaper straighteners in the shops my husband bought me these as a christmas present and I have never looked back. They are so quick to heat up and they just glide so smoothly through my hair. I can't believe I've waited so long to get them. They also add a high shine to hair as they straighten and make short work of my thick hair. Although these are expensive for me I think they are well worth it and so far I have not had any ...
