I bought one of these drives yesterday at Tesco - £39.97 - what a bargain, in the big electrical stores its well over 50 quid... However, when I plugged it in and tried it out I discovered that it reads as a 149GB drive. Thinking that meant it was faulty, I returned it to the store and made an exchange (that was painless, so kudos to Tesco!). The thing is, the new one reads as the exact same 149GB! This small external hard drive is very similar to some of the portable flash/pen drives that are going around at the moment. When I bought it a couple of years ago I was very impressed with what it could do making it easy to take files back and forth no matter where I went on a day to day basis. I then found out that they will not honor their guarantee even after a specialist data recovery firm using all the required clean rooms recover the data.
