Good, Solid Drive
Review of Hitachi DeskStar T7K250 160 GB by
jajrst
Advantages: Fast, Sata, Quite Cheap, Reliable
Disadvantages: Have to use Hitachi Software to Enable Sata II
...I chose this drive because Hitachi is a big brand and one that has a good reputation for reliability. I managed to pick up this drive for £44 inc. VAT which is a complete steal for a Hitachi drive.
If you buy the retail version you will get a 130 page instruction manual with every little detail about the drive in it as well as all the screws, cables etc but to be honest your much better off buying a OEM version which is identical but doesn't have ... ...speed you have to use Hitachi Feature Tools within windows, this is available from the Hitachi website and is easy enough but is just a added nuisance really. Once you have done this though the drive really flies along with speeds of about 130Mbps. The drive is also very unobtrusive sound wise, you can barely hear it clicking away in the background if you install it tightly. If your looking for something that's good for storing all of your files ...

Xbox 360 120GB HDD
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Hard Drive Hard drive 120 GB by
Ownage_AUA
Advantages: 6 times the space of the 20 GB version
Disadvantages: Price is a little steep
Well, I just completed a week using the 120GB Xbox 360 hard drive, and I have to admit it was worth it!
The capacity, looks etc. all made it worth it, especially since for me it was free (got it from a friend).
I would recommend this to anyone who has a HDTV and wants to download his/her favorite movies.
With more and more movies coming out in HD (High definition) it is going to take more and more space (especially for longer movies such as The ...

Review of Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini 250 GB by
millieanna
Advantages: simple to use, good looking too
Disadvantages: none
...wheel come off, then the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini could be the solution for you. Basically it is a small 11cm x 7cm x1cm silver and black hard drive (slightly larger than a pack of cards)which is capable of storing all your documents at a touch of a button or on a schedule and as importantly , it has the capacity to recover all the contents of your hard drive should you have a complete computer disaster.
The One Touch Mini comes in three capacities, ... ...the other end to the Maxtor box, follow on screen instructions for about five minutes installation time, then press the button on the front of the Maxtor to back up your files. The back up of all my music, photos, documents etc took about 4 minutes. Usually this takes me forever when I run my Norton back up.
After this initial back up you can either remove the appliance or leave it plugged in (It powers itself from the computer) and back up according ...

Maxtor Basics 160GB External Portable Hard Drive
Review of Maxtor Basics Portable 160 GB by
SMITHIA
Advantages: inexpensive, easy to use and very portable
Disadvantages: less storage space available than advertised in the specs
I bought one of these drives yesterday at Tesco - £39.97 - what a bargain, in the big electrical stores its well over 50 quid...
However, when I plugged it in and tried it out I discovered that it reads as a 149GB drive. Thinking that meant it was faulty, I returned it to the store and made an exchange (that was painless, so kudos to Tesco!). The thing is, the new one reads as the exact same 149GB! So whats that all about? I'd be interested in the ... ...a duff batch or are there technicals reasons for it reporting less than 160Gb when connected...
With regard to the rest of the other guy's review, I agree completely - it is dead easy to use, small and lightwieght. Quite cute actually - if electronics can be cute!
Hell, at that price 149GB increases my storage so much that the missing 11GB isn't such a big issue for me... but it does make me wonder about the reality of advertised specs vs. real ...
