Don't buy this if you want true surround sound
Review of Pioneer DCS-370 by
pksmith
Advantages: Ok for DVD surround
Disadvantages: No TV surround. No digital optical cable.
Pioneer have really let the side down with this model. It is not capable of converting TV sounds sources to Pro Logic surround sound!! The best you get is stereo from the front two speakers via a RF cable. It doesn't even have a digital optical cable! What a let down! As a DVD player it does what I expect it to but the reason people buy these systems is for full surround, including the ability to convert TV sound to surround. Not worth the money ...

Panasonic sc pt450 WOW WOW WOW
Review of Panasonic SC PT450 by
liamwhitney
Advantages: Superior power (1000watts), stylish, HDMI upscaling, AV inputs
Disadvantages: None
...decided to go for the Panasonic to my delight I rushed home to try it out and I was disapointed with my choice as I had to return it the next day due to it being faulty. I was discouraged from getting the same model, however after speaking to a member of staff in curry's he played all the systems I was interested in and to say the least the Panasonic stood out imensly.
The sound quality was by far superior to all the rest in this price bracket even ... ...600 so on power the panasonic by far The very helpful man in currys played a dvd through them all and again the Panasonic stood out for the sharpest picture through the impressive 1080i HDMI upscaling feature, this system also has av inputs so you can watch your Sky/Virgin tv and play the sound in Surround sound even the Sony doesnt do this, the phillips does BUT can you really sacrafice a massive 400watt power loss by not having the panasonic

Bose 321 GS
Review of Bose 321 GS by
walshy747
Advantages: Sleek Elegant Design, Top quality sound, Includes DVD and Radio into one compact box.
Disadvantages: You can get distorted sound on the radio.
The Bose 321 Gs is a stunning product. Just at a glance the sleek design of the product hits you straight in the face and pulls you in. The design and the colors are just beautiful and just screams to you buy me. If you like the smooth elegant design then this is indefinably the product for you.
The actually product also follows on from the excellent design work. The product consists of 2 speakers and a Subwoofer. It also has a DVD player and a ... ...lack of wires. The bose system consists of only 3 wires connecting the system together and your ready to go.
Overall although bose is either a love or hate product i can defiantly say that maybe the price is a bit to expensive but i do recommend this product. ...

Good sorround system for cheap proce
Review of Philips HTS 3357 by
maximaracer_95
Advantages: Uses pro logic surround, user freindly
Disadvantages: weak sub woofer.
Its perfect for an apartment type housing. Personaly i thnk the sub woofer is a little weak. The DVD player plays just about all the formats such as SVCD, MPEG, AVI and DIVX. One of the cool feature it had is the Ipod dock system. You can listen to your ipod and even watch movies from it, if you have a video Ipod. Just connect the AV connection to the dock and ready to watch. It will work with any type of Ipode or even Zune because it had the adapters ...

DTS and DivX for under £100? Buy it!
Review of Philips HTS 3100 by
cactuscake
Advantages: DTS, Dolby 5.1, Dolby Pro Logic II, DivX playback
Disadvantages: No SPDIF inputs/outputs
...sound and theater system from Philips an offers excellent value for money.
I was attracted to this model as it offered DivX playback as well as DTS surround sound (not two things you're likely to see on the same disc but both come with their own merits). The DTS sound is amazing, I spent several minutes just switching 5.1 sound and DTS just to hear the difference.
It also plays Dolby Pro Logic II from freeview broadcasts and includes a very clean ... ...and well insulated so they don't get damaged if stepped on. The only complaint I have is that they didn't include 5.1 channel inputs as well as outputs, I would have preferred a system with SPDIF input so I could attach my laptop for surround sound but it only has stereo inputs.
The design is sleek and the display is bright and clear even through a glass cabinet. ...
