The unit was really easy to set up, just follow the on screen wizard, and it comes with a microphone for calibrating the speakers, which was fun. The sound quality is excellent on DVDs, CDs and normal TV, and the picture quality on scart and HDMI is superb, the home theatre sync is a nice touch and complements the smart remote control. ...well known make.... enter the Sony SB300. The other reviews have told you about the technical stuff, for me it's about the end result. The sound quality is second to none, and its got more than enough power for a decent size lounge. Mine's only a 3 bed semi house, and the systems never cranked up full... don't think the walls or the Mrs would take it, If your a bit of a technical biff like me, no problem... it's easy to set up and even the speaker ...

...can be viewed on the Sony website. What Attracted Me To This System? I wanted something that was modern looking and sophisticated. It was highly rated by What Hi-Fi? The speakers are very "subtle" and wall mountable - I didn't want large in your face speakers. Sony is a quality brand that I rate. I wanted something that gave good sound quality from music CD's (I use it as a Hi-Fi as well). My Verdict? Whilst I wouldn't class myself as a "tv/vision/hi-fi" ...
...The music quality from CD's is cracking, considering this is not a dedicated music player. The bass is not overpowering, just a quality feeling. The mid range from the 5 wall mounted speakers is also superb (especially given their size - I still wander how they can produce the sound they do!!!). ...purchased this product in a Sony centre. I have to say it was most definetly not a dissapointing purchase, as I was really impressed with the Design and the intense ambience which it provides throught the 6 radio enhanced speakers. A drawback however was the lack of a Dolby surround system. The wireless speakers were not dissapointing, but I found that they sounded funny when watching TV channels.
