Advantages: Multi featured CD, DVD, USB, MP3 TV SURROUND SOUND
Disadvantages: Not wireless!

This is an amazing bargain. I was replacing an old hifi but thought I would get a surround sound system. Not only does it play cd's and dvd's but will play from an MP3 player or a memory card (using a reader) via usb or from a headphone socket on an MP3 player. ...HTS 3100 was recommended in 'Which' magazine and for the features and price I would imagine this one will be. I haven't yet hidden the cables, its my next job! I paid £94 at amazon. This is a great entry level home cinema system for less than £150. I bought this about 12 months ago from Richer Sounds during one of their sales. It's very easy to install as all the wires are colour coded so even a novice will understand what to do. Advantages: excellent sound quality
Disadvantages: base of speakers takes up more space than expected

The sound quality through these speakers is excellent and the sub woofer is fantastic. The DVD player can play just about anything but found when I played a CD in it there was no screensaver so you have to make sure you press the button to bring up the CD information or you run the risk of getting screen burn or so my husband says. We use ours with a samsug TV, I don't know if this makes a difference or not but I have fund that the DVD player woks ...
...I think it may have been a little tricky to install but my husband did it and it seemed to take quite a long time. I find the speakers although they are quite sleek looking they still take up quite a lot of unnecessary floor space due to the big bases. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who asked. ... ...this hooked up to my Samsung 556, the DVD player has 1080p upscaling which produces an image to rival that of most blue ray players! It also has samsungs new automatic link up function which means only one controller is needed, when you turn the DVD player on, the tv automatically switches on and goes to the correct channel, although i believe you need a HDMI cable for this, although these arent too expensive if you browse, a £25 one from amazon/play ...
