Disappointing
Review of Blood Canticle - Anne Rice by DoubleEspresso

Advantages: The Chronciles are finished
Disadvantages: Your favourite characters are not the same

I am very surprised by the positive books this book has recieved. I expected to read negative reviews from people who share the same disappointment as myself. I've read a lot of Anne Rice and this is undoubtedly the worst. The tantilizing character of Lestat has changed- and not for the better. His vanity becomes arrogant and simply obnoxious. Rice's new found relgious fervour finds it's way into this book and destroys her characters. Lestat becomes ...
...for my liking. The book is sloppily written, and I'm not the first to say this. She recieved so many negative reviews on amazon and from critics she posted her own reply on Amazon claiming her critics to be wrong. This is the worst possible ending to the Vampire Chronicles and left me feeling disappointed. I would recommend reading this book only to finish the chronicles but not to go in expecting much. ... Singing the Same Song
Review of Blood and Gold - Anne Rice by freyaschild

Advantages: Deeper understanding of Marius
Disadvantages: Armand retold

...Armand, go ahead and read Blood and Gold. If you HAVE read Armand, skip this one, unless you are into rereading the same thing over again. Marius is a tragic figure, and has been since the first books. But the true tragedy is that his story has been told TOO MANY TIMES. I'm sorry, Anne, but I cannot really and honestly recommend this book to the faithful. I myself am a faithful adherant to your stories, but this, really, I hate to say it, was a waste ... Blackwood Farm
Review of Blackwood Farm - Anne Rice by AlexM85

Advantages: mysterious, captivating, exciting. Anne Rice at her best!
Disadvantages: very hard to put down!!

...most fantastic character in Tarquin Blackwood since Lestat himself. No offence Lestat! i've been reading Anne 's books for about 5 years now and i think i've got all of them under my belt, trust me when i say this is one of the most innovative novels she has written since inventing the Taltos. Its a must for fans but would also suit the new-comer to her books as it starts a new adventure with a new cast except Lestat. This book brings to your attention ...
...well as in Fantasy. Tarquin Blackwood is haunted by a wicked spirit who is later revealed to be connected to him from birth. the books gives you some wonderfully colourfull characters such as Aunt Queen and Jasmin. it also brings in the powerful mayfair witches who we have see in their own chronicals. So, it will have you wanting more from the offset and if your new to Anne Rice you'll definatly want to find her other books. ... Read review

Anyone For A Good Read?
Review of It - Stephen King by Beautiful69

Advantages: The Plot And Storyline Is Immense
Disadvantages: Complicated In Some Parts - Read Properly If You Want Full Understanding :)

...I persuaded him to buy it for us and my brother to watch (ever do DVD nights? No, neither do we! But I thought it would be a nice change). I liked the film. Not really scary, but I really liked the idea of a killer clown. Imagine my delight when I heard there was a book out which apparently was absolutley brilliant. The main characters are The "Losers Club" : Beverly Marsh - The only female of the group.. A fiesty, pretty 11 year old redhead whose ...
...shape-shifting monster referred to as IT is killing innocent children, until seven wily youngsters fight back; The Losers Club. After individual and group encounters with IT - who takes the form of their biggest fears (but mostly as a terrifying clown named Pennywise) - the youngsters decide to destroy the creature. Enter the Ritual Of Chüd, fighting IT down in the sewers. Thinking they have destroyed IT, the 11 and 12 year olds soon go their separate ... Read review

Advantages: Feels like you know the characters

The Long Walk is a book written by Stephen King under the pen name Richard Bachman. It is part of the Bachman Books which are all set in the future. It is the story about several different men and their journey through the country as they take part in a gruelling 450 mile long marathon which is the ultimate sports challenge.
