Good grief, Anne Rice!
Review of Servant of the Bones - Anne Rice by
catina122
Advantages: Good book to read if never read Anne Rice books before
Disadvantages: This is a sad tale, if you are looking for happy, don't read.
This is a great book to read if you have never read an Anne Rice tale before. This story is not part of a series as is her usual style with the Vampire Chronicles and the Tales of the Mayfair Witches. It is also a great book for any Anne Rice fan, to get a new story not related to the witches or vampires. I enjoyed this book very much, as I am a very big fan of Anne's, and have read all of the vampire and witch tales. I was ready for a new story, ... ...is a very sad tale of tricks and long suffering, so those of you looking for a happy story will want to go with something else. However, if you are a horror fan, or like plot twists or detailed descriptive background stories of deceipt and trickery, not to mention ghosts and the like, then this is a book for you.
It is an excellent tale of grief and long suffering, as told by the main character in a style similar to Interview with the Vampire. If ...

Four Past Midnight
Review of Four Past Midnight - Stephen King by
RedTape
Advantages: Book scares you into uncontrolled bowel movements
Disadvantages: May cause the reader to go into shock
...of macabre himself composed of four chilling short stories or novellas. If you love horror stories that can drive you into paranoia and have you sleeping with the lights on THIS IS THE PERFECT NOVEL TO READ. This book is composed of very different and intensely chilling novellas. These are: The Langoliers: This begins where passengers who have been sleeping on a plan wake up to find they are alone and that those who were awake have disappeared; and ... ...but I am going to tell you that from there, things take a horrifying turn, and no, it's nothing like the average airplane movie and does not include terrorists. Secret Window Secret Garden: A man accused of plagarism
The Library Policeman: You have to read this. This is just sick, and scary. It's about the main character sam who has a terrifying encounter with "the library policeman" when he was younger and is now afraid to set foot in a library.

The Zombies are coming!
Review of World War Z - Max Brooks by
Marche1992
Advantages: Really entertaining and engrossing
Disadvantages: Can take itself too seriously.
...his book on how the world may turn out if there was a zombie apocalipse.
The book it written as a set of interviews with people from all walks of life. It starts with the first patient being found in the rural parts of China by an old docter. At this time he sees it of no more than another case of desisea in the poor areas of China. This quickly escalates as cases of 'Rabies' spread throughtout the world spread further by organ transplants on the ... ...finds himself out of his world of numbers and facts and into the real world to take care of himself. In a way this shows my situation in my life, but ofcourse slightly more zombies. We see him as he makes a relativly short journey down the outside of his tower block. As he travels down he meets those who have given up hope and those who have given in to the zombie plague. All the way through he uses dark comedy to 'lighten' the mood.

Well ever since then iv only read mainly dean koontz , I heard he done horrors earlier in his written life but i hav'nt read any of them . All his books are phycological and keeps your mind going , and "From the corner of his eye" is no exepection ! I wont give no spoilers but lets just say find it VERY hard 2 get into a book , ... ...about the book , apart from one thing , the rest of the book is just a superb read ! It is 819 pages long wich is a lot longer than most his others , but by the time you've got the story line going your halve way gone , and you'll wonder were its gone ! Theres twists and turns all the way through so dont expect a MAJOR one at the end , although they do make a good book , "From the corner of his eye" doesn't need one , its just a brilliant read from ...

I Am Legend - THE BOOKS BETTER !
Review of I Am Legend (Millennium SF Masterworks S) - Richard Matheson by
Maximus-Qualitus
Advantages: A Page Turner
Disadvantages: None
...Author - Richard Matheson
I remember watching the original film 'The Omega Man', starring Charlton Heston. It was a bit poor and massively different from this book. The latest version starring will smith is slightly different from the book but closer to the mark.
The story;
~~~~~~
Robert Neville is the last 'Normal' human alive in the city of Los Angeles and possibly the last in the world.
Every night he has to barricade himself inside his home ... ...friends taunt him, "Come outside, we have something to show you".
His mind is constantly prayed upon with doubts and agonies of why only he survived, if he should carry on alone and if there is a cure.
Whilst out one day he encounters a wild dog but it soon becomes his companion if only for a short while. (This made the film)
In the act of slaughtering as many vampires as possible he fears he himself is becoming a monster and instead turns his ...
