Tarquin Blackwood is haunted by a wicked spirit who is later revealed to be connected to him from birth. the books gives you some wonderfully colourfull characters such as Aunt Queen and Jasmin. it also brings in the powerful mayfair witches who we have see in their own chronicals. So, it will have you wanting more from the offset and if your new to Anne Rice you'll definatly want to find her other books. ... Read review

Advantages: Deeper understanding of Marius

...Armand, go ahead and read Blood and Gold. If you HAVE read Armand, skip this one, unless you are into rereading the same thing over again. Marius is a tragic figure, and has been since the first books. But the true tragedy is that his story has been told TOO MANY TIMES. I'm sorry, Anne, but I cannot really and honestly recommend this book to the faithful. I myself am a faithful adherant to your stories, but this, really, I hate to say it, was a waste ... I am very surprised by the positive books this book has recieved. I expected to read negative reviews from people who share the same disappointment as myself. I've read a lot of Anne Rice and this is undoubtedly the worst. The tantilizing character of Lestat has changed- and not for the better. His vanity becomes arrogant and simply obnoxious. Rice's new found relgious fervour finds it's way into this book and destroys her characters. Lestat becomes ...
...for my liking. The book is sloppily written, and I'm not the first to say this. She recieved so many negative reviews on amazon and from critics she posted her own reply on Amazon claiming her critics to be wrong. This is the worst possible ending to the Vampire Chronicles and left me feeling disappointed. I would recommend reading this book only to finish the chronicles but not to go in expecting much. ... Disadvantages: Drawn out, predictable, below standard for this author

Exit to Eden (ignore the mis-spelt product title courtesy of Ciao) was originally a 1985 release by Anne Rice under the name Anne Rampling following her huge early eighties success with the "Sleeping Beauty" trilogy (under the name A N Roquelaure). Rice hasn't gone to the great lengths fans of her other work (Vampire Chronicles, Mayfair Witches) will have come to expect from her. Disadvantages: can be long winded

i love Anne Rice her expression of beauty of the way she paints her scenes so when you imagine her scenes she has already painted the picture for you. I love her characters too even the cruel but somehow loveable Lestat i love Louis but his self lothing did begin to grind alittle. The only problem i have with Anne Rice is that she over explain everything from a flower to a room i once counted over 40 pages of a situation that could have been sorted ...
...too. I love finishing her books because it feels i've conquered something impossible as i have a short attention span.
