A Vampish Revenge
Review of Vittorio the Vampire - Anne Rice by HappyBunny

Advantages: Suspense, Excellent plot and characterisation
Disadvantages: Not long enough!

...Renaissance Italy, 16 year old Vittorio seeks revenge when his family is barbarically murdered by “demons”. Vittorio, the only survivor is prevented from being slaughtered by an “angel of death”, Ursula. His search takes him to Santa Maddalana, a small town that seems too good to be true: free of illness and crime. But Vittorio soon suspects that the town hides a sinister secret. As the title suggest Vittorio, becomes a member ...
...corrupt religion. In seeking help Vittorio is told by a Pastor to “Go away and take your misery with you!” and an artist monk who has a passion for women. What Rice conveys is the fragility of the human condition and a parody to the temptations of Adam and Eve. ‘Vittorio, The Vampire’ is not just a horror novel. In fact in categorising it as horror the novel would be taken at face value. This is not a work, which is only ... Read review

A little different to her norm
Review of The Witching Hour - Anne Rice by pruneofdoom

Advantages: An engrossing read
Disadvantages: Slow to start

...Vampire Chronicle!!! Although its by the same author and later the two threads overlap (see blackwood farm) the style and characters are quite different. Rather than her traditional first person narative at which Rice excells we're stuck in the strange neverland of the omnipresent narrator, that cannot replace the awesome protagonists of earlier novels. Despite this the all encompassing atmosphere that typifies Rice's book is still present particularly ...
...For the first few chapters you probably will be confused, but I think that's meant to be part of it, after the plot gets going its as captivating as any other book I've read. Look out for the everpresent Talamasca, and enjoy a breather from the Brat Prince. Not a good choice for your first Anne Rice but definately something worth reading for anyone who's vaguely interested in her other novels. ... Read review

a tale better than the first.
Review of The Vampire Lestat: The Vampire Chronicles (Vol 2) - Anne Rice by rhian200

Advantages: A must have for them who like the film/book interview with a vampire
Disadvantages: None, a beautiful written book, better than the first.

After both watching the film Interview with a Vampire then also reading the book. I wanted to know what happened next so baught the book The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. Great continued tales of the Vampires!!!
Review of The Vampire Armand - Anne Rice by catina122

Advantages: Continued Tales of the Vampires!
Disadvantages: Long, drawn discriptions can be hard for some to read.

...meet Armand in Interview With the Vampire, his character is for supporting the main characters. Now we get to hear his complete story, in great, flowing, beautifully described detail. If you love all this detailed background and imagery, this book is a must read for vampire fans. If Interview was a great read to you, then you will LOVE this book also. However, if you found Interview to be too long and descriptive for your tastes, then this book will ...
...and gives much background on the characters and places they live and visit. So, for the fan of such writing, her tales are masterpieces. For those who have to trudge through all the details waiting for the action, read something else. I recommend this book to fans of Interview With The Vampire. You will enjoy the continued tales of the Vampires, I would also recommend Tale of the Boy Thief, and Servant of the Bones. ... Read review

MORE OF THE VAMPIRE!!!!
Review of The Tale of the Body Thief - Anne Rice by catina122

Advantages: MUST READ FOR CHRONICLE FANS
Disadvantages: Length, if you struggle with detail.

This is the continued story of Lestat, one of the main characters of Interview with the Vampire. We also see other familiar characters in this story. To get more details of their lives throughout the Chronicles is a great plus for the fans. When Interview ended, I was wanting more, and this tale delivers! We get to see the acts of the Vampires, spanning their long lifetimes in more detail. Anne gives us just what we want. If you enjoyed the other ...
...fan of any one of the Vampire tales, then I do not recommend reading this book. But for the fan of Anne Rice, her Vampires or her Witch tales, then this is a great book to read. I have read it 3 times now! I am looking forward to something new in the vampire tales from Anne very soon! ... Read review
