Dog/Man or Man/Dog
Review of Fluke - James Herbert by wayne7

Advantages: Not a scarey horror storey
Disadvantages: You might ned to read twice to grasp

A different, thinkers horror book. Probably in the Horror Genre because of the author and and his earlier books. Dated now but does stand the test of time A relatively short book compared to some other horror writers but no less a good book. It is different and starts you thinking from page one. Then undertake the trek of a man to recover his life only to find out he is a dog. Or the trek of a dog to regain his life as a man. It is difficult to ...
...but is this dog a man or is this man a dog. Suffice to say he has 4 legs and barks so why should he think like a man and as soon as he realises who is is(was) then why is he a dog??????? Re-incarnation it might not be but this dog has a grudge so don't take his bone. Go to your local library and borrow the book. ... Read review

Anyone For A Good Read?
Review of It - Stephen King by Beautiful69

Advantages: The Plot And Storyline Is Immense
Disadvantages: Complicated In Some Parts - Read Properly If You Want Full Understanding :)

...I persuaded him to buy it for us and my brother to watch (ever do DVD nights? No, neither do we! But I thought it would be a nice change). I liked the film. Not really scary, but I really liked the idea of a killer clown. Imagine my delight when I heard there was a book out which apparently was absolutley brilliant. The main characters are The "Losers Club" : Beverly Marsh - The only female of the group.. A fiesty, pretty 11 year old redhead whose ...
...shape-shifting monster referred to as IT is killing innocent children, until seven wily youngsters fight back; The Losers Club. After individual and group encounters with IT - who takes the form of their biggest fears (but mostly as a terrifying clown named Pennywise) - the youngsters decide to destroy the creature. Enter the Ritual Of Chüd, fighting IT down in the sewers. Thinking they have destroyed IT, the 11 and 12 year olds soon go their separate ... Read review

Advantages: Feels like you know the characters

And he's the good guy......
Review of Skulduggery Pleasant - Derek Landy by rosieemma91

Advantages: Fantasy in a modern setting.
Disadvantages: It had to end.

...Landy lives in Dublin and Skulduggery Pleasant and it's sequel are his first books, which are soon due to be made into a film. However enough about the author. More about the book. Well, it is a very striking looking book, which I like. If a book has a boring outer shell, I tend to be disinterested before even reading the blurb. However, the Skulduggery Pleasant book is definately one that would attract even the lover of the weirdest and kookiest ...
...this is, the fact that Skulduggery Pleasant is a skeleton brought back from the dead explains in pretty much in a nutshell. The picture on the front by Tom Percival is predominantely of a terrifying looking skeleton in what appears to be a trilby, scarf, shirt, tie and jacket ensemble, with flames coming out of his finger bones. In the foreground are the silhouettes of four people, two girls (one of whom is brandishing a sword) Skulduggery himself ... Read review
