Advantages: One of King's best book.

Advantages: Worth the money and is a good read.
Disadvantages: Had no social life through this book.

The dark tower. The gunslinger. The first part of the dark tower series is 'The gunslinger'. The story is set in a fantasy world about 'Roland of Gilead' the last of the gunslingers. Even reading the back of the book, I wondered is that "The Roland", however I soon discovered that this could not be the case, King Roland does not share any of those characteristics, he is a nice enough character who is fairly well drawn (as are many of the others), there is a true multi-dimensionality about him. ...naturally got a copy of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I was disappointed. This is a less than good effort on the part of Mr. King. He has better style and plots than this to offer. I recommend reading this and deciding for yourself, but for the true fan, you WILL see the disappointing differences.
