King does it again!
Review of The Dark Half - Stephen King by rhys_morgan1

Advantages: One of King's best book.
Disadvantages: None really.. it can be quite gruesome I guess!

...King fan, but will be the first to admit that some of his books havent quite lived up to usually very high standard. Over the last few years, I have abstained from reading any of his work, as in and out of uni and post grad things was unable to really commit to a book like this, but have recently got back into it - and this is the best I have read for a very long time. This is typical King. I read this book in a matter of days - not because its a ...
...- then something happens in the book and you HAVE to know what happens next.) I read quite a few of his books recently (Everythings eventual, dark tower, four past midnight, Hearts in atlantis) and this is definitely the strongest of that batch. Its an excellent book - and it has the archetypal King realism in the content which can sometimes actually horrify you. The first chapter had me reading with my hand over my head as if that would protect ... Read review

A good read
Review of The Dark Tower Collection - Stephen King by peteandcesca

Advantages: Worth the money and is a good read.
Disadvantages: Had no social life through this book.

The dark tower. The gunslinger. The first part of the dark tower series is 'The gunslinger'. The story is set in a fantasy world about 'Roland of Gilead' the last of the gunslingers. The hero is on a quest to find the mysterious dark tower whilst also hunting 'The man in black', who you don't get introduced to until near the end. On his quest 'The gunslinger' meets other strange and wonderfull characters which make the book more readable, one of ...
...strange world. Although i thought the book was fantastic it seemed at times the story wasn't progressing, but towards the end it picked up again and i couldn't put it down. I was then just waiting to get my hands onto the second part. I paid £7.99 from WHSmith but this was a couple of years ago and is probably alot cheaper now. Especially on the net or auction sites. ... Read review

King for Kids
Review of The Eyes of the Dragon - Stephen King by sandemp

Advantages: Simple language, no real horror, some cross-over characters
Disadvantages: Simple langauage, no real horror

...good king, he just does the best he can. He's brought two sons into the world, (with the not inconsiderable help of Sasha, who could very have been described as a good queen), and the land of Delain is peaceful and prosperous. When King Roland dies of a mysterious poison, his eldest son Peter finds himself accused of regicide and only he and The Dragon's Eyes know who the true murderer is….. I have to say that I've spent the last few months wading ...
...comparisons between those books and The Eyes of the Dragon than there really were. Even reading the back of the book, I wondered is that "The Roland", however I soon discovered that this could not be the case, King Roland does not share any of those characteristics, he is a nice enough character who is fairly well drawn (as are many of the others), there is a true multi-dimensionality about him. He tries to do his best, but in the end he has the ... Read review

Girl Who Loved is not the best.
Review of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon - Stephen King by catina122

Advantages: Stephen King fans
Disadvantages: Not his best work.

...naturally got a copy of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I was disappointed. This is a less than good effort on the part of Mr. King. He has better style and plots than this to offer. I recommend reading this and deciding for yourself, but for the true fan, you WILL see the disappointing differences. Give it a chance, you may enjoy it, but for me, it does not compare to his other works. Maybe I am too narow-minded in my opinion, and some will like ... Read review

The Long Walk-Richard Bachman aka Stephen King
Review of The Long Walk - Stephen King by marria-x

Advantages: Feels like you know the characters
Disadvantages: Ermmmm

The Long Walk is a book written by Stephen King under the pen name Richard Bachman. It is part of the Bachman Books which are all set in the future. It is the story about several different men and their journey through the country as they take part in a gruelling 450 mile long marathon which is the ultimate sports challenge. With merciless heat and limited rations, their prize if they win is a huge amount of money. Most of the men die and the book ...
...who are taking part. The Long Walk was written by King in 1966 but even today , it is read by many people. It is an excellent read and i would recommend it to anyone who liked horror books. You would like this book if you liked Rage or The Running Man. ... Read review
