Excellent Hotel
Review of Trident Hilton, Agra by purplehibiscus

Advantages: Great staff, great food, great room
Disadvantages: None!

I stayed here for 3 days in August 2006. We got a good deal on prices as it was the monsoon, though from the weather you couldn't tell. It is definitely worth considering coming in the low season. The hotel is reasonably modern and very clean. The rooms are what you expect from a Hilton, with lots of little nice touches - free 2l bottle of water each day - great for sightseeing! There is also some lovely toiletries and slippers provided. About half ...
...contains the very nice swimming pool. The food is lovely. The breakfast is done buffet style but there is so much choice and is constantly being replenished so things are always hot. There is both Indian breakfasts as well as more Western alternatives available. An evening meal wasn't included in our price, so you can either eat out or stay in - dinner is waiter service and very reasonably priced as well as being delicious (I recommend the mango ... A home away from home
Review of Sahil Sarovar Portico Lonavala by D.Hari

Advantages: Good location, hygiene, food and ambience
Disadvantages: Surroundings under development. Debris and litter are visible around the area.

...June 08. Our stay at Sahil Sarovar Portico was enjoyable. The features we found attractive were: Location: The location of this hotel on Tungarli Road was exactly what we preferred for a weekend getaway. The neighbourhood is away from main thorough fares and market places, yet easy to reach. About 1 to 2 km from the hotel, there are several points which afford beautiful views of the adjoining valley and provide excellent opportunity for walks - ...
...unusual design of the hotel - a central spiral stairway with all rooms spread around it - and the limited but well landscaped exterior added to the privacy and charm of the place. We strongly recommend Sahil Sarovar Portico as a weekend getaway and would love to stay their again. ... Read review

Autumn Trees Munnar - Pathetic Hotel
Review of Autumn Trees, Munnar by ssmallya

Advantages: Cant think of any. There are better hotels at better prices in Munnar town
Disadvantages: Nothing is good.

...project party and stayed in Autumn trees. After staying there just for one night i was fully fed up with the quality of rooms and service that the hotel provides. We had booked five deluxe (so called) rooms in the hotel. each room costs about 950 bucks (pretty costly for the service and quality). We had planned to reach Munnar early morning and so the deal was struck with the check in time being 6 am. When we reached there at 6 am we were told that ...
...much delay at around 7.30 am we were given 2 uncleaned rooms for freshening up (rooms were in pathetic condition and we were 14 ppl). The management told us that the cleaning ladies would come only after 8.30 am and so we will have to manage with those rooms only. We somehow adjusted freshened up and went to the tree top restaurant for breakfast. He wasted 1 and a half hours in getting us the breakfast we ordered. 1 and half hours wasted. And even ... Don't go looking for Heritage In the Heritage Inn
Review of Heritage Inn, Amritsar by koshkha

Advantages: Great location, fair price
Disadvantages: Surly service with too much attitude

...lazy time. Why the Heritage Inn? It's not that easy to get good advice on finding a hotel in Amritsar. There are few of the international hotel chains, most booking sites cover only the more expensive places and even then, not in any great detail. Alternatively you could stay almost for free in the Temple's own accommodation - I think Michael Palin did that but it's a bit different when you have a camera crew in tow. I found the Heritage ...
...£20 per night per room and, whilst that's far from the cheapest you'll find, I thought it was pretty good value and I quite possibly would use it again. But I won't book quite so many nights next time. Heritage Inn 1234 Baba Attal Road 143001 Amritsar ... Read review

Lakeside View Please
Review of Resorte Marinha Dourada, Arpora by missydoc

Advantages: Friendly staff, very clean, cheap
Disadvantages: none

We have just returned from a 2week holiday in Goa staying at the surreal Marinha Dourada hotel in Arpora, Baga. This resort was highly recommended to us by a relative who travels to Goa every year and stays at this resort everytime. Having stayed there, I can see why they are regulars. When we were at the stage of booking our holiday we saw pictures of the resort and to be honest did not think too much of it. It showed some lakes, a few swimming ...
...read some reviews of holiday makers who had just returned from there and had complained about some building work taking place behind the resort. I emailed the resort and was reassured by the manager Edwin that it will not affect our holiday. Now this wasn't my first trip to India but was the first time to Goa and it is totally different. It is much cleaner, full of tourists, clean restaurants but slightly more expensive than the other major cities ... Read review
