Oranges are not the Only Fruit..
Review of Kenwood JE 270 by
helencbradshaw
Advantages: Yield of Juice over manual juicer Ease of Use, Easy to Store, East to Clean, Price
Disadvantages: None
...citrus fruit. The Kenwood JE270 is a citrus juice extractor that does what is asked of it, and comes in at an affordable price. You can actually pay £10s- £100s for a citrus juice extractor, which would seem like overkill for anyone other than a commercial outlet. In fact the Kenwood JE270 retails for around £15 from the electrical retailers and you may find it slightly cheaper on line. Assembling the extractor is simplicity itself. The base unit ... ...shaped jug slips over the central plastic spike. There is a silver tray to catch the pulp, and finally the domed citrus squeezer shape on the top. There is no on/off switch with this type of appliance, instead the extractor is activated by pressure - when you push the orange half down on the squeezer, the appliance spins around gently and extracts the juice. There are two main advantages to using this citrus extractor instead of a traditional lemon ...

Loud, but does it's job
Review of Kenwood JE 356 by
FrancescaTimbers
Advantages: Small, cheap and handy
Disadvantages: Slightly louder than some other models
This juicer was easy to clean and flies through anything I put through it. Takes up very little space in your kitchen. With its simple stylish design and clean lines, this definitely met my appearance standards. Its assembly was extremely quick (a few seconds) and straightforward. A plastic spatula is included which is designed to fit snugly into the pulp basket to remove the bulk of the pulp. The Lid of the juicer is clear plastic which enables ... ...juice outlet spout is at a reasonable level for fitting a cup under; it would be nice if you could fit a full jug underneath though. Also comes with a citrus press attachment that can be used to juice citrus fruits without having to first peel them.
The pulp basket has aluminium mesh sides and sits on a shaft that spins thus giving the basket its centrifugal action. Though extremely loud and noisy, it does it's job!
When the pulp basket gets full ...

Kenwood smoothie bar
Review of Kenwood JE 770 Smoothie Juice BAR by
happy13
Advantages: Spacesaving...urm...
Disadvantages: Impossile to clean, juice leaks through machine onto work, top tap clogs
Very dissapointed in this machine, I chose an all in one smoothie, juicer and citrus juicer as I knew I would be using it a lot. Starting with the smoothie maker/blender. Unless you add a lt of liquid the fruit sticks to the sides and will not blend, the great pokey thing they supply with it does not reach the sides, I know it has to keep away from the blades but it is that high it is useless. the tap then glogs with thick smothies or unblended fruit. ... ...to clean the tap and fruit juice gets stuck in the tap, even soaking, running water through it will not get rid of it, it is just about possible to clean the plug hole but is not easy.
The Juicer, Firstly you have to cut the fruit fairly small to get it in, then the juice stays inside the machine and slowly trickles down the spout and when you have drunk your measly half a glass full you struggle to remove the blades and collector for cleaning when ...

Philips HR 1861 Juice Extractor
Review of Philips HR 1861 by
foxgloveUK
Advantages: Large chute, large pulp container, large jug
Disadvantages: Pulp sticks in lid, pulp container sometimes comes loose
I have just bought one of these juicers and I am so happy with it. It is easy to use; you don't need to peel most fruits and vegetables plus everything goes down the chute without any need for chopping. It is also very quiet to operate. It is easy to clean - all the parts are dishwasher safe (apart from the motor of course). There are a couple of trivial things that I dislike about it: the pulp container can come loose if it isn't seated properly ... ...to move and it is a bit of a shock when it does) and the pulp gets stuck in the lid. As I said, they are fairly trivial faults and nothing to worry about. It costs a bit more than other juicers, but is well worth it! ...

The perfect juicer
Review of Breville JE4 by
rosieboorman
Advantages: Perfect juice
Disadvantages: Lots of washing up
A very good family juicer!
I love making juice and this just makes it so much easier. You just cut some fruit up (can be in large bits) you then put it all in the top tube bit, switch on, and push the fruit down with the lid type thing. The juice comes out on the right, down a funnel. It doesnt have any bits in, very smoothe. And all the pulp goes to the left into the large containter.
Only down side there is ALOT of washing up, which you have ...
