Fancy a cuppa?
Review of Philips HD4666/20 Stainless Steel by
kitty1801
Advantages: Quick boil, Large capacity, Looks good, Not too expensive
Disadvantages: Metal casing can get a bit hot
...Also, with a brand like Philips I expected quality that would last.
We purchased it there and then for £25.47 and it came with a one year warranty. When we took it home to try it out we were pleasantly surprised. The kettle holds 1.7 Litres so more than enough to make teas/coffees when you have guests. The kettle also boils really quickly - when full it takes 3 minutes 58 seconds to boil and this gives you 6 large mugs of boiling water.
The kettle ... ...the window there is the philips logo and the wording 3000W. I don't normally like branding on items but this is discrete enough that you hardly notice it.
The rest of the kettle (including the base) is made up of sturdy black plastic. I don't know how to describe this better but it looks good and not cheap and nasty, which is what I always think of when someone mentions plastic. The lid has a scooped out section where you can open it to fill the ...

Dualit Kettle
Review of Dualit 72302 S/S Cream JUG by
emmag32
Advantages: Looks the business!
Disadvantages: Perhaps the price?
I have been using this kettle for around four months now and I've very pleased with the look, design and performance.
We needed a new kettle and having been given some vouchers for John Lewis decided upon this kettle which was higher in price than we may have otherwise paid. I really like to sleek design and the colour fits perfectly with our kitchen. The kettle feels sturdy and is easy to clean. This model also covers a smaller surface area than ... ...another review I noticed that they found the boiling time unacceptable, I've timed mine (out of curiosity because I hadn't noticed this) having filled the kettle to max and flicked the switch, it boiled in 2.35 - this is acceptable to me, especially as I don't boil a full kettle on a regular basis. I wouldn't strongly recommend this product, neither would I steer you away from it, because that's your decision to make. I can only present my experience, ...

Quick cuppa with the Tefal QuickCup
Review of Tefal CCQH2 Quick CUP by
dbarcl10
Advantages: Warm water in 3 secs, energy saving
Disadvantages: Doesn't boil water
The Tefal Quick Cup is a type of kettle, but instead of boiling a whole kettle of water to make a single cup of tea, the Quick Cup heats only the amount of water required, therefore saving energy. Tefal claims that a cup of hot water takes only 3 seconds and I was sceptical at first, but its true.
The machine itself is mainly black with a stainless steel control panel on top, and has 2300w of power. The machine is made from high quality plastic, ... ...If you look on the Tefal website, nowhere does it says anything about boiling the water, it only says it provides hot water. For me the temperature is ideal, but if you like it really warm, you won't be happy.
Similarly the cold water is really room temperature, the machine doesn't do anything to chill the water, but if you use the filter, it will be room temperature filtered water.
In the home the noise may be fine, but in an office, it can be ...

Why not is the question?!?
Review of Eco MAW893 by
Betsyholly
Advantages: Quick to boil and helps save the planet!
Disadvantages: if you dont remember to fill the second chamber it has a 95% chance of breaking!
...not is the question!?! The Eco Kettle is a great tool for the kitchen, works basically the same as a normal kettle but helps save the planet! The idea behind it is that it only boils the amount of water you need and no more, meaning its quick to boil and at the same time uses less energy then if you were boiling more than you need. Its also not bad on the eye and allows you to see how much water your putting in. One thing thats important to remember ...

Stylish and Satisfactory
Review of Dualit 72302 S/S Cream JUG by
Bagpipes1
Advantages: Boils water and looks good. What more could you want?
Disadvantages: Must be treated with special care and is expensive compared to other kettles.
...where we have both the Dualit toaster and kettle. On the whole we are very pleased about our kettle and toaster, however, if considering buying the kettle appliance be prepared to look after it carefully. Our kettle began to function incorrectly after about 4-6 months use, the fault the kettle had sustained meant that the kettle could still boil water very effciently, but failed to cancel the heating process when it had finished boiling. This meant ... ...manually switch it off, no great harship, but a bit annoying. We belive that the damage caused to the thermostat [the part of the kettle that prevents it boiling dry through prolonged boiling] was partly due partly to a couple of knocks the kettle may have recieved. However for many years we have been replacing kettles and purchasing new ones due to the old one ceasing to function. [Thing just arent built how they used too!] This kettel is a good ...
