This was a present to myself at xmas and WOW its far better than I ever imagined! Its so powerful yet can be turned to the minimum setting and its gentle as your own finger tips - I have made everything from shortcrust pasty ( amazing!) to heavy duty bread dough - the folding hook ROCKS. The first thing I made was a banana & walnut loaf - the mix was perfect in just seconds with this machine where I used to take ages mixing everything by hand. My history and why I wanted one of these* When I was young and life was fun I had a friend who had a food mixer sitting on her worktop at all times, she used it several times a week and made the most wonderful cakes, breads and pastries with it.
