Acer Aspire 9303 WSMi
Review of Acer Aspire 9303WSMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-52 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by
Angiemitch
Advantages: Big, clear screen, great for photos and video, easy to use, well equipped
Disadvantages: None
...love the Welcome Centre that Acer has added as it guides you through the first few days of getting used to the laptop, especially if you are used to a Mac, as I was.
The integrated media centre of Vista is so like iLife but just fails to hit the slickness of Apple's flagship media centre.
All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and I am reluctant to say, I like PC's more than Macs now. ...

great laptop
Review of Acer TravelMate 5623WSMi - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 17" TFT by
punk_rocker
Advantages: big screen
Disadvantages: not good for gaming
...an element to this that acer have actually tried to make this one look nice for a change. there are better looking laptops out there but I think this travelmate actually looks pretty good.
this features a Intel Core 2 Duo processor which runs the 1gb installed ram like a dream. another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn't cheap however and could cost over £100 to upgrade it to 4gb of ram, however this ... ...big screen you\'d expect this acer to have hardly any battery life, actually it has a great 3.5 hours and this is because of its 8-cell Lithium Ion batteries, this is a lot seen as all the other travelmates have only 6 cells.
my favourite thing about this laptop though, is its built in webcam at the top of the screen. this makes contacting people so easy and its not hard to set up like plug in web cams are.
if your looking for something with a ...

HP DV6599 Special Edition - Good All Rounder
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6599ea Special Edition Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
marcus997
Advantages: Features, size and design
Disadvantages: Not good enough for gaming
...me. As a fan of HP products, I chose from the DV6500 range available at the time. This laptop had every spec I required for both using as a station for university assignments, as well as home use for music, film and gaming.
Firstly, the design is eye-catching. I was bored of looking at the generic black or grey and thought the white anti-scratch surface was ideal. The laptop is also quite light and the absense of a locking clip meant there was less ... ...more than my money's worth! HP also frequently offer discounts so it's always worth checking to see what deals are to be had.
As well as the remote control that is stored away when not in use, another of my favourite features is the fingerprint reader. When you use the internet on a frequent basis, remembering usernames and passwords can be frustrating. For anyone who hops from website to website, I'd highly recommend this feature.
Thankfully I ...

Does an excellent job for most day to day tasks
Review of Toshiba Equium A200-26D - Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
s32bauer
Advantages: Good looks, most basic equipment you would need, able to handle most programs
Disadvantages: Not suitable for games, some aspects feel cheap
...However, I will warn that Toshiba have placed quite a lot of branding on the software. The Toshiba wallpaper is easy to get rid of, but there are numerous 'memory eating' programs that Toshiba claim to help your laptop - they do nothing worthwhile. Certainly nothing that Windows can't do better. Separate programs for controlling the touch pad aren't required, and uninstalling all of this non-essential software frees up storage space and memory.
... ...ethernet port for my internet, and have had no issues with either. The ethernet is very straight forward plug and play, and connects to your ISP in seconds.
The display is extremely crisp and sharp, and the brightness can be changed to suite your needs (and energy consumption). On the subject of energy consumption, this laptop isn't too bad compared to some I have used. I can run my laptop in high performance mode using wireless LAN for internet, ...

Acceptable Toshiba.
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 by
AmenTeen
Advantages: Speed, comfortabe, cheap.
Disadvantages: No webcam built-in.
The Toshiba brand has always been noted with mass gratitude for solid and robust piece-of-art laptops and particularity, the Satellite Pro A200 is not an odd exception, not a disappointment.
The Satellite Pro offers Intel new processor technology as far as concerned. This advantage gives the user open options for use of softwares and applications compatible with the new technology of duo-core. Still the duo-core processors are robust, at least 1.5GHZ ... ...users.
This notebook has its Toshiba manufactured hard disk, well known for being solid and long life.
The design of coated screen is classic and gives a great look with the new windows vista interface. The touchpad is just a tad too small given all the unutilised space above the keyboard where the speakers and quick launch buttons live.
The left hand side of the chassis houses your video options with VGA and S-Video out, Ethernet port, two USB ...
