When the price is Right
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6510b - Core 2 Duo T7250 2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by 666Nemesis666

Advantages: Authentic businesslike looks, lots of inbuilt luxuries, relatively large screen, large memory.
Disadvantages: Over-priced, low graphics capabilities.

Compact and neatly organized (Dimensions: 33.1 cm x 24.3 cm x 3.4 cm) it is excellent for both home use and professional or business work. The keyboard is of standard size, although the 14" TFT screen also supports wide screen (with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800). The portability is superb, with a relatively low weight of 2.4 kg for a laptop with this screen size the exterior is of a classically 'businesslike' design and looks comfortable in ...
...GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm hard drive makes for an impressive amount of disk storage and allows for a large 1GB of RAM. The Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 / 1.8 GHz ( Dual-Core ) processor used also means that this laptop is of impressive speed and power - however, I do find the noise of the processor's cooling fan annoying at times. This laptop however is not built for gaming with only an Intel GMA X3100 graphics card, watching movies or online video ... Read review

Review of HP Pavilion dv6799ea Special Edition Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz - 15.4" TFT by RalphMarch1

Advantages: Fast and great for watching films
Disadvantages: Battry life aint great for me anyway

This is a sexy smart looking laptop it's really easy to use. I found this laptop quick on loading programs and fast on the internet. The picture quality is not too bad either. The keys are nice to type on and the touch screen mouse is really responsive. I only use mine for the internet and sometimes for work spend a lot of time watching movies on it the DVD play is really fast and films run smooth no stopping to load all the time battery life could ...
...which is rubbish if you're not near a plug and your film is 3 hours long. I have to say I didn't wait and fully charge my battery up when I bought it and I have been told that why the battery life is poor. so wait till your battery is full charged before playing ... Read review

Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6552ea Entertainment - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 - 15.4" TFT by jonnowitts

Advantages: the look, 2gb ram, dual core, media designs, dvd rw, lightscribe
Disadvantages: vista, no backwards support to XP, graphics chip, no boot disc but rather partitioned harddrive

...really nice looking laptop. The HP remote is really useful, i'm not entirely sure on the range of it but it works on IR usage so, so long as your are kinda close and pointing it at the right area it should do what you want it to. The remote also slides into the laptop next to the DVD drive so you won't lose it. The 5 in 1 card reader is also really useful, I use a variety of memory cards and they all work (i did have to get an adapter for my Memory ...
...mouse keyboard and monitor..that's right HP provide no XP drivers for this laptop. apprently you can use ACER drivers but i am still looking into this. So moving on from this I tried Ubuntu - no such luck - something called a microcode error - I apprently have an invalid Mac address (to do with the internet), what i think this is caused by is the built-in wireless which cannot be turned off completly i.e. from boot. So ok it comes with vista but ... Read review

The middle-man
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6299ea Special Edition Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by cornzee

Advantages: Look, Performance, Extra Features
Disadvantages: Robustness

...the most recent and newest Hp pavilion laptops. With almost identical specification as both the 14inch and 17inch screen models the only real difference is the screen size. Speed: With a dual core 1.66 GHz Intel Centrino processor and 2GB of RAM this laptop is pretty fast. Start up time is reasonable, applications open up quickly, big files load fairly speedily too. Can handle several applications at once and complete several processes at once. ...
...Look and Feel: As HP put it themselves - Wrapped up in the HP Imprint finish, this sleek and shiny notebook will look good at home or on the road. This was one of the factors in me choosing this laptop over its competitors in the same price range. The finish is superb and it doesn’t scratch really easily, dent, feel really cheap or any of the things you might expect from a good looking finish. On the other hand, the whole laptop does feel a bit ... Read review

An excellent laptop
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6680ea Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by bluebanana111

Advantages: A wide range of features and simple to use
Disadvantages: No firewire ports and an ocaisonally temperamental touch screen

...http://www.lightscribe.com/ for more details). The only problems I've had are that there are no Firewire ports, which is annoying, and the touch buttons, which include pause, next, previous etc, are not compatible with iTunes. Overall, it is a great laptop, and I would definitely consider buying from HP again. ... Read review
