Dell Inspiron XPS M1710
Review of Dell Inspiron XPS M1710 by
Hacksaw25
Advantages: Fast, High End Gaming, looks great
Disadvantages: Expensive
I have owned the XPS for a year now, If you're a hard-core gamer looking to play the newest games at the highest settings, this is one of the best systems on the shelves at the moment.
I spend quite a lot of the time on the move due to my job, I enjoy playing games but what use would a Desktop PC sat at home be while I'm hardly ever there? Then I came across the XPS M1710, which buying on line allows you to setup your own specifications before purchasing. ... ...like I am, you will be willing to put this on your shopping list, but I must admit at the time of entering my bank number for the purchase, I did cringe a little but now I've had it a while and have enjoyed my gaming through this technical wonder, I haven't looked back!
Now let's see what makes this what it is. Underneath this stylish bonnet lies an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 CPU running 2.33Ghz and with a maximum choice of 4GB RAM which is impressive ...

Sony VAIO AR51E Review
Review of Sony VAIO AR51E - Core 2 Duo T7250 2 GHz - 17" TFT by
ElistheG
Advantages: 17" Screen, Awesome Specs and a built in webcam
Disadvantages: Too much bundled software and it's also quite heavy.
...Software- 9/10
As usual Sony has bundled a lot of software with the AR51E including Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements and VAIO Camera Capture Utility, so you can capture videos and images using your built in webcam. The downside of this is that a lot of the software won't be used and in all it takes up about 12GB of your harddrive. The OS of this laptop is Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium.
Portability- 7/10
As far as ... ...the VAIO is weighed down by it's 17" screen.
Value- 8.5/10
At around £900 new these laptops aren't cheap, but for such a high spec laptop and the fact that it's made by a top brand like Sony, I think it's worth the money.
Overall- 9.5/10
The Vaio AR51E may not be cheap, but it's a truly awesome laptop, with a 200GB HDD, 2GBRAM and Dual Core Processor, as well as the 17" screen the VAIO makes for optimum computing, while its not the type ...

M1330
Review of Dell XPS m1330 by
stonecoldkevster
Advantages: Speed
Disadvantages: Crashes sometimes
How do Dell keep doing this, another amazing laptop for people like me to enjoy.
This laptop can have an immensive amount of RAM and Hard Drive put in to it and you can also change colour and pattern to severel differant ones.
Has a security fingerprint check to get in the laptop or/and in laptop files. Now that is technology so if any one steals it they wont be able to get on it!
Also is designed for storing pictures and movies and games and ...

Not a great traveller, but a good mate...
Review of Acer TravelMate 7520-402G16Mi - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 17" TFT by
readie25
Advantages: Well-presented, feature-packed laptop
Disadvantages: A touch slow for modern gaming
The Acer Travelmate series come generally very well-equipped to be competent laptop computers for the modern age, and the 7520 is no exception. Using the same Turion 64x2 that is quite standard in its Travelmate range, the 7520 is quick to boot; the 2GB of RAM is quite sufficient for multimedia applications such as watching DVDs - well provided for by a very able DVD drive and a very nicely presented, clear screen. As well as this, the product is ... ...for long periods, with a great touchpad.
However, the screen is quite easily scratched and the battery life is really rather poor - typically you can expect approximately 80 mins on 'high performance', or longer on the more frugal but less useful 'balanced' and 'power saver' options.
A great value laptop, and a very good buy ...

My Mate just doesn't Travel well...
Review of Acer TravelMate 5720G-302G16 - Core 2 Duo T7300 - 15.4" TFT by
readie25
Advantages: Well-rounded laptop with very good functionality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Not future-proof, but what is?!
When looking for a relatively cheap but well-designed laptop, acer's travelmate series were a particular interest. Suitably powerful for multimedia applications, and generally well-equipped, with an integrated webcam, microphone and a separate graphics card. This does call on the system memory, however, and typically running windows vista will result in the system using almost half its RAM just idling...
However, having purchased a similar travelmate, ... ...transported, the battery life in 'high performance' mode is short and the other power modes are less useful.
I have experienced issues from new with the battery connection, and the seller - Kikatek, were very unhelpful. As well as not having a phone line at all - communication must take place by email - they were very unwilling to accept that the model had any fault at all... The laptop is a solid buy, just not from Kikatek! ...
