Acer Aspire 7720
Review of Acer Aspire 7720 - Core 2 Duo T7300 - 17" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: its speed and performance
Disadvantages: rubbish webcam
...a very new one from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. It does have split opinions however, some love it and some people really cant stand the look of it. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly a design that acer has come up with and kept, and it clearly represents their ... ...the same as others and you cant tell what brand they are, this however, much like the look of apples imacs you can tell they belong to which company.
The installed ram on this laptop is great, it has a massive 2gb which is the main reason this laptop runs so fast, also its intel core 2 duo T7300 which is one of the newest processors makes this laptop run so fast.
And if the 2 gb isn't enough for you (although I cant see this amount ever not being ...

Not a great traveller, but a good mate...
Review of Acer TravelMate 7520-402G16Mi - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 17" TFT by
readie25
Advantages: Well-presented, feature-packed laptop
Disadvantages: A touch slow for modern gaming
The Acer Travelmate series come generally very well-equipped to be competent laptop computers for the modern age, and the 7520 is no exception. Using the same Turion 64x2 that is quite standard in its Travelmate range, the 7520 is quick to boot; the 2GB of RAM is quite sufficient for multimedia applications such as watching DVDs - well provided for by a very able DVD drive and a very nicely presented, clear screen. As well as this, the product is ... ...for long periods, with a great touchpad.
However, the screen is quite easily scratched and the battery life is really rather poor - typically you can expect approximately 80 mins on 'high performance', or longer on the more frugal but less useful 'balanced' and 'power saver' options.
A great value laptop, and a very good buy ...

great new acer
Review of Acer TravelMate 7720-302G16Mn - Core 2 Duo T7300 - 17" TFT by
punk_rocker
Advantages: fast great screen
Disadvantages: could look cooler
...another great laptop from the acer travelmate range. this laptop, like all the other travelmates is specifically designed for those working people. You can tell by looking at it that its not really a gaming or movie laptop, because it does look very business like, however its not ugly and it does look quite sleek.
This features a Intel Core 2 Duo processor which runs the 2gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that ... ...Another great thing about this acer compared to the other ones, is that it has a 17 inch screen. A lot of previous travelmates only had a 15.2 inch screen so its great to see this one have a 17 inch screen. Also just because the screens got bigger, you'd think it would have less battery life, well actually it has 3 hours, which is a lot more than some of the previous versions. However it is a bit bulkier than some of the previous acers, only a bit ...

HP DV6599 Special Edition - Good All Rounder
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6599ea Special Edition Entertainment - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
marcus997
Advantages: Features, size and design
Disadvantages: Not good enough for gaming
...me. As a fan of HP products, I chose from the DV6500 range available at the time. This laptop had every spec I required for both using as a station for university assignments, as well as home use for music, film and gaming.
Firstly, the design is eye-catching. I was bored of looking at the generic black or grey and thought the white anti-scratch surface was ideal. The laptop is also quite light and the absense of a locking clip meant there was less ... ...more than my money's worth! HP also frequently offer discounts so it's always worth checking to see what deals are to be had.
As well as the remote control that is stored away when not in use, another of my favourite features is the fingerprint reader. When you use the internet on a frequent basis, remembering usernames and passwords can be frustrating. For anyone who hops from website to website, I'd highly recommend this feature.
Thankfully I ...

Does an excellent job for most day to day tasks
Review of Toshiba Equium A200-26D - Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
s32bauer
Advantages: Good looks, most basic equipment you would need, able to handle most programs
Disadvantages: Not suitable for games, some aspects feel cheap
...However, I will warn that Toshiba have placed quite a lot of branding on the software. The Toshiba wallpaper is easy to get rid of, but there are numerous 'memory eating' programs that Toshiba claim to help your laptop - they do nothing worthwhile. Certainly nothing that Windows can't do better. Separate programs for controlling the touch pad aren't required, and uninstalling all of this non-essential software frees up storage space and memory.
... ...ethernet port for my internet, and have had no issues with either. The ethernet is very straight forward plug and play, and connects to your ISP in seconds.
The display is extremely crisp and sharp, and the brightness can be changed to suite your needs (and energy consumption). On the subject of energy consumption, this laptop isn't too bad compared to some I have used. I can run my laptop in high performance mode using wireless LAN for internet, ...
