Good product
Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 600 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
Patty8
Advantages: as always processor
Disadvantages: small screen for graphics
The ibook is a great product but for someone into graphics I believe I want just a bit more] as far as screen size. I have the 12.1" screen size model. As always the ibook processor is untouched by any pc and the graphics card is great for a laptop. I run all the adobe programs and some of the microsoft office programs and macromedia programs, I have had no complaints. As for the details here you go. Built in firewire, ethernet, modem, USB VGA port ... ...alot), built in cd burner and dvd burner, great for long trips. Currently I am running OSX 10.2 and it runs very smooth, I just ordered panther and plan to upgrade as soon as it comes in. Overall I love my ibook and the good definitely out weighs the bad. ...

Review of Apple PowerBook G4 - PPC G4 867 MHz - 15.2" TFT by
PinkMocha
Advantages: easy, reliable and fun!
Disadvantages: some PC apps wont work on this!
...so many manufacturers! the apple G4 has a large screen , thin and lightweight. the good thing about it as well is the speed, power and memory on this is very powerful. disadvantage is many PC softwares are not available for mac and always are released later on. mac is more on a professional basis but i feel has enough games and software and programmes to suit everyone. ...

Oldie but a goodie
Review of Apple PowerBook G3 - PPC G3 400 MHz - 14.1" TFT by
Obsessive_Katy
Advantages: Still up-to-date despite being older, attractive, easy to use
Disadvantages: Bulkier than more modern PowerBooks, still command a fairly high price
...some time. I find Apple easier, more design concious and more user friendly. However, the prices were putting me off (not to mention the fact that those beautiful streamlined new ones are so tempting!)
Then I started to look further into it. In fact, further into the past. And I started to think, 'what Apple were producing 3 years ago is still pretty good today'. When I looked at the prices these models were going for I was shocked! Yes, they are ... ...was no way I could get a new PC-style laptop with the same spec. for twice the money.
So I started looking around.
And what I found was the Lombard. A G3 PowerBook, the one with the 'bronze' (read brown) keyboard. It has all I really need. A CD ROM, an internal modem, 2 USB ports and many more things that I'm still discovering. I find it fast and economical with the power (even with an older battery it lasts for 3 1/2 hours off road) and far better ...

Wow great for a first mac
Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 500 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
Veventhar
Advantages: tough, easy to use, you'll fall in love with it.
Disadvantages: a bit slow by todays standards, small ish harddrive
Warm, inviting and comforting. Thats the initial vibe you\'ll get as you turn this thing on. Even though the specs are not up to modern computing, wont notice too much difference while doing the usual tasks like surfing the internet and checking mail, organising photos etc. The tough white shell protects it from almost anything that you can throw at it (its the same stuff that they make bullet proof glass out of!) Mac makes everything so much easier, ...

Great 2nd hand laptop 4 those who dont need speed!
Review of Apple iBook PPC G3 600 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
domcaz
Advantages: Its a Mac. Its a 2nd generation iBook (ie all 1st gen defects ironed out), good 2nd hand prices, still v.current
Disadvantages: Not a G4 (or G5!), smallish screen, not a huge HD.
...amazing reasons to use an Apple computer. It comes with a host of great Apple software which works seemlessly with the OS. It is stable, easy to use, flexible, secure, difficult to hack, and - best of all, VIRTUALLY IMPERVIOUS TO VIRUSES. Yup, you didn't read that wrong. Viruses hardly affect Macs at all. Windows and OSX are VERY different under the bonnet and the virus writers write viruses for Windows for 2 reasons: 1. There are A LOT of Windows ... ...to get into through security holes. For some reason MS leave many more holes in their software.
Beware though, Macs can still transmit those email viruses, they just cant get infected. If you recieve a virus email on your Mac - you are perectly safe, but any Windows users you forwrd it to are NOT.
The computer itself is light, only 2.2kg, and small - 11 x 9 inches (there is an older brother with 14.1" screen, 2.7kg, 32 x 26 inches, if you would ...
