M1330
Review of Dell XPS m1330 by
stonecoldkevster
Advantages: Speed
Disadvantages: Crashes sometimes
How do Dell keep doing this, another amazing laptop for people like me to enjoy.
This laptop can have an immensive amount of RAM and Hard Drive put in to it and you can also change colour and pattern to severel differant ones.
Has a security fingerprint check to get in the laptop or/and in laptop files. Now that is technology so if any one steals it they wont be able to get on it!
Also is designed for storing pictures and movies and games and ...

Modern laptop with excellent features
Review of Dell XPS M1530 by
cathy_m80
Advantages: Fast, looks good; nice screen
Disadvantages: Dim screen in power-saving mode
...on the market - the Dell 1520/1525/1720 range are cheaper but don't look quite as good - though I'm sure they would have done a pretty good job too!
The main attractions of the M1530:
Fast processor - mine has the T5450 (1.66GHz) but better are available
2GB of RAM as standard
250GB storage - very handy but sure that won't seem like much in a couple of years!
Very nice screen - high resolution
Good graphics card (NVidia GeForce 8600M GT)
Good ... ...weight for its specs
Fingerprint reader - bit of a gimmick possibly, but makes logging on easy
I opted for one of the standard black matt covers - I'd read that these attracted fingerprints but for some reason didn't believe it - THEY DO. On the other hand, if you're not too fussy about appearances, after a few months the marks don't appear too obvious (I suspect because they merge together).
The laptop worked straight out of the box. Start-up ...

A competitive performer in the business market
Review of Dell Latitude D630 by
Mac2008
Advantages: Portable performance
Disadvantages: May be difficult in deciding on what spec to have
...this laptop for business purposes, Dell don't even offer this to the home user market. So, its agreed, you are likely to be looking at this for work purposes, so the next question is, what do you need to do on it?
When purchasing any asset for the professional environment it is all about cost effectiveness. This is often misconstrude as buy cheap... on the contrary, its about buying the most appropriate device for the job(s) required. For example; ... ...The D630, as with any Dell product, is totally customisable so you can build a high end number crunching unit or have a mobile workstation to provide access to the communication tools that are important to you.
The important thng to consider is that this laptop is built for usability, reliability and stability. It features Hyperconnect technologies (Dell proprietary network enablers) and strikezone hard disk protection (just in case you drop your ...

A Lattitude working in the field
Review of Dell Latitude D830 by
1963sporty
Advantages: easy to use, strong
Disadvantages: could be a little lighter?
...over the years.
This Dell is the best value for money by far, easy to use looks the part in presentations without beig flashy or overspeced and has never ever let me down. I might not use a massive amount of functions or carry huge programs but for solving problems and presenting solutions to my clients this is the best I have had and would have no hesitation what so ever in recommending it to anyone working in the Financial Services industry as ...

Great laptop let down by a couple of things
Review of Dell Inspiron 1720 by
iahaining
Advantages: Speed, screen (1920x1200), takes 2 hard disks, solid build, looks, support.
Disadvantages: Sound, touchpad, weight.
This is a great laptop let down by a couple of things which could easily be remedied by Dell. Pros: Very fast with a great screen (I have a 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo with the 1920x1200 Ultrasharp screen option). Supports 2 hard disks. Looks good and feels as solid as a rock. Excellent full keyboard.
Cons: Big and heavy - not really for carrying around. Sound - only one speaker so no stereo, and sound comes from underneath to the side, so sounds distant ... ...There is loads of room to make this much larger. As it is, I find I am constantly having problems with it as I am inadvertently hitting the 'scrolling' areas and the mouse stops responding as I am expecting it to. This is the worst touchpad I have used, but only because its usable area is so small.
Update: OK I was wrong - the laptop has stereo sound. there are 2 small speakers at the front, but on the underside, so you have to be careful that they ...
