Review of Dell Latitude D600 - Pentium M 1.3 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
silverspooninmouth
Advantages: simple reliable value
Disadvantages: can't think of any
brilliant. i have owned five Dell laptops and they have all been excellent. i had one that had a problem, howeveri had the onsite warranty. they were out next day and fixed it in my house. parts and all. they were consistent in their reliablilty and seem that way acroos the range. the smaller models were better than the larger types. i.e Centrino cooler than the P4 versions. this is similar in all Lappys though. i enjoyed the simplicity of setting ... ...have prompted me to recommend them to many of my friends and in my opinion value for money and specification together, thereis not much better available. all in all thy have been a worthwhile purchase and i would continue to recommend them to others. i will purchase again when i have the need to. ...

Dell Vostro 1000
Review of Dell Vostro 1000 by
mufc4300
Advantages: Cheap in Price compared to other laptops
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky and heavy in weight
...their prices with the other Dell laptops out on market. I purchased the laptop at £339 with the same spec on the inspiron coming to a total of £529. The machine overall is excellent for the type of work I use it for, as it is very fast and quite simple to use with minimal functions. The downfall is that it is slightly bulky compared to all the other machines and can take up quite a bit of room as it is pretty thick aswell. I have had a few problems ...

A satisfying purchase
Review of Dell Inspiron 1520 by
ricey9
Advantages: Good Spec
Disadvantages: Prone to Overheating
When looking for my first laptop I was searching for an efficient and powerful computer. I believe the Inspiron 1520 fits that mould. The Laptop is fairly heavy but with its generously proportioned 15.4 inch screen that is to be expected. The specification is more than ample. I went for the T7500 processor which really shines on the many software packages I use. The graphics Nvidia 8600 GT graphics card, though not top of the range handles all but ... ...faulted however a massive problem lies with the fan. The fan appears not to work, the laptop will start to heat if used for over one hour which wcan cause discomfort if placed on the users lap. I also found that the charger supplied with the laptop is prone to overheating and mine has broken down twice
However this is an efficient, powerful starter laptop. ...

Adequate but not inspiring.
Review of Dell Inspiron 1525 by
Just-Martin
Advantages: Looks good. Battery life around 4 hours. Keeps your legs warm on cold days!
Disadvantages: Audio crackle. Gets too hot. Screen viewing angle restrictive. Slow to start.
...appears to be a common Dell laptop problem. I eventually found advice in a forum to disable band A on the wi-fi. This worked but it is a bodge. The audio isn't good even without the crackle but I was intending to return it before I found the work-around. I tried to use the on-line help Dell make such a fuss about but it wouldn't recognise my service tag number.
On the Plus side, it is a good looking machine and the battery life is excellent. I was ... ...but I have to say I quite like it.
I bought it to replace a dying Medion laptop I got from Woolworths. The Medion was a much nicer machine to use despite being cheap. It served me well for over two years of heavy use but it has developed a poor connection somewhere. Even with the fault I still prefer it to the Inspiron. ...

Another Great Product from Dell
Review of Dell Latitude D531 by
carlamp
Advantages: Good price, well built
Disadvantages: Wifi is listed as optional
...purchased my D531 direct from Dell a little over two months ago. I purchased it as a replacement / upgrade for my older Dell C640 which had served me well.
This is now my 3rd Dell laptop, my reason for sticking with them is quite simple. Dell may not always be the most trendy of designs, but in my experience they are in general very well built and tend to cope well with the odd few knocks and scrapes.
Firstly when you buy from Dell, it is very ... ...stated earlier, in my opinion, Dell are hardly what you would term fashionable in terms of their looks. However as with its predecessors, the D531 has a good solid and well built feel to it. My only slight concern is that whilst it is quite sturdy, the lid does not seem to offer the same level of protection as others, and Dell seem to have used a lighter more flimsy plastic.
PERFORMANCE
The spec I went for was the basic offered by Dell for this ...
