...1525 to replace my current Dell desktop, an USFF Optiplex SX280. This is partly due to wanting to rid my life of clutter on a desk, and ultimately a desk, so this really will be used on my lap. As a result I have also specced it with the internal mobile broadband 3G/HDSPA card for Vodafone, so that I can access the internet, in theory, from anywhere. Since I am already a Vodafone customer I intend to add 3G use to the account and get rid of my BT ...
...I'm interested to see how well this will work in the real world. Initial impressions of the Inspiron are very good. I have chosen a gloss white finish on the lid, and it looks really smart. Nobody will actually be fooled into thinking it's an MacBook, but I like the simplicity of the colour and also the fact that, unlike the other colour choices available, it was free. ...the first month. 3 xps dell computers in my family, all three developed problems in the first few months. DO NOT BUY DELL!!! this is just a scam to make people buy computers and then pay a hefty price in dubious warranties. 35 days after the computer was bought,it failed. I bought this laptop a few months ago because firstly, I wanted a full-size keyboard (being a touch typist), secondly I wanted a decent graphics card for gaming (comes with nVidia card) and thirdly, my laptop never travels so I wanted a large screen. When looking for my first laptop I was searching for an efficient and powerful computer. I believe the Inspiron 1520 fits that mould. The Laptop is fairly heavy but with its generously proportioned 15.4 inch screen that is to be expected. The specification is more than ample. ...their prices with the other Dell laptops out on market. I purchased the laptop at £339 with the same spec on the inspiron coming to a total of £529. The machine overall is excellent for the type of work I use it for, as it is very fast and quite simple to use with minimal functions.
