Cheep and cheerful
Review of HP 510 - Celeron M 360 1.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by Dazzlin_uk

Advantages: Cheep laptop, resonable quality
Disadvantages: Spend a little more, get a faster laptop

I have been using this laptop for a couple of months and I think, for the money, this is an exceptional piece of equipment. My couple of gripes are long charging time, the right mouse button feels loose, it now takes a very long time to boot up (it was fine new and I have not added much software) and a very limiting hard drive. Also, this unit comes with 512mb ram but can only be upgraded to a max 1gb and uses special ram chips that need to be ordered ... Read review

Long review for well built laptop
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6710b - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by hauran

Advantages: very good ergonomy and good display
Disadvantages: loud cooler

...BASIC DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------- HP Compaq 6710b has got traditionall conservative design. Characteristic is black and dark grey color and square shape. Design is simple without specialities and extravagancies. Somebody can call this design as a square black boxes, but some people like this design much more than the futuristic new models of a competition. The chasi is exemplary well manufactured. Cover of display ...
...side (as is usual for HP i think) is not power connector, but there are LAN, VGA output, TV out as a S-Video. On the right side are from the rear analog modem, optics mechanic and two USB ports. These USB are better on the back side because when I connect something to the right i got a problem because on the right i usually have external mouse. Up from the USB ports is a card reader for SD, MMC, MS/Pro, XD and card inside always overreaches. On ... Read review

Samsung R20
Review of Samsung R20 LWM2 T2250 - Core Duo T2250 1.73 GHz - 14.1" TFT by poodyshmoe

Advantages: Cheap, Stylish, and Quick, with good memory.
Disadvantages: Easily scratchable glossy finish, trial version of Office

I bought this Laptop the day it was released and have only had a few bothers with it. Firstly, I would like to say it looks supurb, although I stupidly put it in a bag where something rough was rubbing against the glossy black side of it... And of course you have to keep cleaning that glossy black for it to look good every day! Looks wise, it beats the Mac hands down, and from what ive heard it was made as samsungs challenge to the mac market. I ...
...I got, this seems very good value for money. Fast, light, losts of memory and goodlooking, it does the job. The only hassles ive had is it slowing down when theres some big programs running at the same time, which I guess is pretty obvious. The other is that the CD burner seems to have gone wrong today - but then again I have used this hardware every day since I bought it. All in all, a great buy for the money. ... Read review

Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V5505
Review of Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V5505 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by m1keyb

Advantages: Quick laptop and not bulky for a 15.4" laptop 2Ghz
Disadvantages: battery life rated at 3 hours. Graphics not for high end use

An excellent laptop, a good balance between memory and CPU speed for most users. Graphics adequate for most things, though not for high end games. 3.4 Vista Index due to graphics, however, all over ratings are around 4.5 -5.5. Highly recommended for general and business use. I use mine for web development and have had no problems at all. I often have many CPU intensive applications open at once and the performance has never waivered. I've just switched ...
...the keyboard, however, its a standard laptop one so no problems there. The USB ports are on the side which I find useful. Display screen is excellent and doesn't suffer from glare. At the time of writing this was the best laptop for the money for general use on the market. ... Read review

great laptop
Review of Acer TravelMate 5514WLMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 15.4" TFT by punk_rocker

Advantages: protable
Disadvantages: no gaming

...an element to this that acer have actually tried to make this one look nice for a change. there are better looking laptops out there but I think this travelmate actually looks pretty good. however it does still look a bit bulky compared to the newer laptops out there. This features a turion 64x2 processor which runs the 1gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn't cheap ...
...Card, xD-Picture Cards. This acer also has a fantastic 15.4 TFT screen, which is ultra sharp and just looks great. however new games dont run so well on this laptop so if you want somthing for gaming then you might want to get somthing else. my favourite thing about this laptop though, is its built in webcam at the top of the screen. this makes contacting people so easy and its not hard to set up like plug in web cams are. also this webcam can ...
