Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A 7640
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO A 7640 - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
laurs19
Advantages: Stylish, Lightweight
Disadvantages: Slow for gaming
I bought this laptop a little less than a year ago from Comet for the princely sum of £699. I had shopped around for a long time and after visiting lots of websites and comparing what spec you could get for what price I felt this laptop was the best value. Also, i need to take it into Uni so it was important that it wasn't too heavy and it was also one of the slimmest and lightest laptops in its price range. Its also a pretty snazzy and stylish looking ... ...very good to type on unlike other laptops I have had or used and I can honestly say that I find it as easy to type on as a normal desktop keyboard. One thing I found annoying was the touchpad-because of the way I type my hand kept brushing off the touchpad and I would then look up at the screen and realise I had inadvertently moved the cursor and was typing on a totally different part of the page!! This however is fixable by either disabling the ...

Speedy lappy? Yes please!
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO A1630 - Athlon 64 3000+ - 15.4" TFT by
china_wolf
Advantages: Flippin' fast! Futureproofed big time, wide screen, good design
Disadvantages: Price may put you off
...by respectable company partnerships of Fujitsu and Siemens, this laptop has some good quality reputable companies backing it up.
If you have read my previous reviews, you would know I am a PC lover. Therefore when I purchased this laptop, I simply had to have the best one. No cutting corners for me oh no, the full whack and then some! So that means the laptop model I am reviewing here is the fastest one your money can get. Cheaper ones are available ... ...the model name changed from Fujitsu Siemens to Tiny? Man... are they running out of suppliers in China or something?
There is faster laptop I just discovered being released by Alienware sporting hardware you woul;d only find on desktop PCs. Damn... already my 'fastest laptop' dream has been shattered... ...

Macbook: The Only Choice
Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
chids
Advantages: Looks, Simplicity, Works out-of-the-box, battery life, power
Disadvantages: Case feels a little cheap, Screen attracts fingerprints
...Macbook was purchased direct from Apple and took just two days to arrive. And, as promised, it worked straight out of the box. I just pressed power filled out my user details and i was going. The setup hooked me onto my wireless internet and i was away.
The first thing that struck me was the size of the thing, it's only slightly thicker than an average sized hardback notepad and weighs just over 2 kg, in other words it's a perfect size. Before the ... ...is very clean and crisp. Apple really has gone above and beyond with this one, it's perfect. The 13,3 inch glossy screen is great for watching movies. Just a note for skeptical readers: the glossy screen rarely (if ever) reflects anything in the background. When it comes to using the Macbook in a brightly lit area or outside there is less reflection than there would be on a Matte display.
Battery life on the Macbook. Is better than almost all other ...

The Good and the Bads of the Toshiba Equium A60
Review of Toshiba Equium A60-155 - Celeron D 335 2.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
chrisattrill
Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, Run up to date games.
Disadvantages: Heavy, Slow, Battery
The Toshiba Equium A60, is a cheap, and reliable laptop. It can do the basic commands of oppening Microsoft Office to a harder command of running the most up to date games. The A60 is quite old now, and I was worried at first that it may not be able to run Flight Simulator X. In the end the game works fine. The spec is good aswell, if you have got alot of files then you may need to buy and external hard drvie for extra storage. Then there is the ... ...portable. Also if you have got lots of programs then the laptop may be slow and most of the time the laptop will not be able to run more then three or four major programs. Also the battery is not very good; infact it is rubbish. But as long you have got the charger in the laptop you should be ok and it should not be a problem. Over all its a good "student" laptop, and the price you pay is the price you get!
I paid £230 for this laptop, but i'm sure ...
